Description of 1964 Porsche 356 |
I picked this up since I always wanted a 356 sunroof coupe. Just bought a new house so, no time for her. The heavy lifting is done, new floor pans and longitudinals. The car was originally sold in Germany to an American. He held it for a while and then shipped it to the US as a used car and saved a lot of taxes. When you look at the engine, you can see where it originally built with the snorkel heater that attached to the engine shroud. I got the engine to turn over. Nothing sounded odd. Kardex reads:Specials: 2 fog lights, 1 'verchromter Signalring' (a chromed ring which may be placed on the wheel for honking purposes?), 4 black foot mats, a set of Entstörmaterial (let's call it a suppressor or sound filter), 2 speakers, a set of seatbelts, electric sliding sunroof, antenna, and a headrest ('Schlummerrolle', very lovely but old-fashioned word). Dealer: (Ernst) Islinger in Mannheim, Germany. With the euro spec heat, factory fog lights, horn ring, sunroof, noise suppression for the radio, headrest, and seatbelts, etc., this is the most heavily optioned 356 I've seen. BTW, original colors would have been Ivory on black. As well, the car comes with the seats which are in good condition and all of the interior upholstery panels and rear seats. Will also include starter relay to help turmover the engine with more power as well as headlight relays for lights that meet modern driving needs. |
