[isdntekvideo] Here is a 1978 Gaurds Red 911SC Targa up for sale. The car is completely dry top to bottom and looks good from a few feet away with it's older paint job. Interior is clean and looks good. Runs and drives but will still need a bit of TLC mechanically. Take a look at my video above for a detailed description. Exterior wise, the guards red paint is older, but still has a good shine too it, doesn't look bad for a driver. Original color was Petrol Blue and it was changed to the current red some time ago. Body lines are straight. Paint has some checking on one door, some nics and small scratches here and there. Has a few small dings from normal use which I pointed out in my video above as well. Glass in good shape all around. Targa top was just rebuilt with new burlap straps and came out nice including the new headliner. Has a factory turbo rear wing on the back, I do not have the original, but this original turbo wing is worth some money. Factory Porsche alloys look decent for being original.
The interior is very clean. Carpeting in very good shape with no major wear or holes. Seats also look good with no rips or tears. Dash has a plastic cap on it. Dash face looks good and gauges all work with exception of the clock. Vintage Alpine CD player still works! Steering wheel in good shape and horn works fine. Door panels both in good shape. Driver and passenger power windows both go up and down. Non smoker car with no bad smells. Rear seating is in very good shape. Glove box in good shape and has original owners manuals and comes with 1 key.
Mechanically, the car runs and drives but will need some work. The car idles high, and the idle screw is maxed out and it will not allow any further adjustment, so this needs to be addressed. The car will blow a bit of white smoke at start up which quickly goes away. Engine runs smooth and does not make any abnormal noises. Engine is dry underneath as well. Transmission shifts well and syncros all in good shape with no popping out or grinding in gears. Brakes in good shape and has a good pedal. Rear tires look new, fronts have about 25% and are older. Steers good and handles fine. All lights are working as they should. Floor pans as dry as a bone with no rust issues! Front floor pan super dry and there is no evidence of accident damage. Has a new battery as well.
