1987 Porsche 928 S4 nice rust free 2 owner AZ CAR
This is running / driving 928 that could easily be a daily driver. Not saying it doesnt need work, but Ive been driving it around town the last few weeks with no issues. It was parked for about 2 yrs where it was hardly ever driven. The was a 2 owner car that came with a stack of receipts for work done over the yrs. Ill list some of the $ big stuff done down in the ad a bit. The car is a totally rust and rot free Az 928 S4 that looks to still have most if not all of its original paint. The first owner had it from 87-92 the 2nd owner 92 till last month when we got it. It will need some restoration here in there and Ill try to point out all the details on things I know it needs down more in the description. We suggest viewing our auction on normal monitors or tablet to get the most out of our large hi-def pics.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION: 1987 Porsche 928 S4 - auto Mechanically the cars been well taken care of by a local Porsche shop w/ receipts to show a track of what all has been done over the yrs. It has a few dents on the original Venice blue paint window tint is old - dr side outter mirror loose and a few other small issues. But nothing that prevents someone from making it their weekend car or daily driver. The leather interior shows well for its age and has no weird smells. I cleaned and conditioned the leather once already, but it could probably use it again. Everyone has their choice of products usually for this type of thing. With the vehicle come a stack of receipts go back to 1992 when the 2nd owner got it. A few important invoices I found were for: 2005 @ mileage 98k: timing belt & related items and more - Paid $3200 2005 - new ft windshield and many more invoices for oils changes etc. Replaced Air flow meter - PS hose -sensors etc. Current mileage around 125k, the speedo quit working not long before it was parked so its a close estimate seeing it was not a daily driver for the last 15 yrs. ...there is no substitute :) More info and details below -->>> Check out the pics and more info below...thanks
DONT BID UNLESS YOU HAVE THE FUNDS IN HAND, apparently some people who use ebay arent smart enough to understand the rules. So if you have under 10 feedbacks, Ill be emailing you if you bid to make sure you are legit, if we do please reply or we will cancel your bid. Up for Auction: LOW FAIR RESERVE !!! These cars are getting harder to find esp in this condition that are still affordable to most buyers. WANNA BUY IT NOW ? SURE, shoot me a fair offer
DRIVETRAIN: the factory V8 Porsche drivetrain is under the hood matted to the auto trans. I believe it to be original matching #s of sorts survivor car. Starts runs and drives fine. Very clean under the hood and alot of the proper maintenance has been dealt with over the last 25+ yrs of 2nd ownership. After it warms up the Belt Tension light comes on, but not had it looked at yet. A few shops just said it may be a loose connnection and other said, just get the tension checked soon to be on the safe side. The timing belt was done about 40k miles ago and it was checked about 1000 miles after it was done, but maybe from sitting a few yrs it effected it too ? Either way, the motor runs well and the trans shifts fine too.
INTERIOR: take a look, Az heat has done some heat and normal wear n tear damage. Dash has some cracks from the Az heat, but front seats and most of the interior is actually in good shape. Dr side door panel I noticed is loose. PW car and has factory AC too. Zero rust on the floors and or rockers. 127k on the odometer, shows original miles on the AZ title. Remember its still needs some work here too. Power window, seats and sunroof all working. The dash has a some what I call warning lights on which I really dont know are for. 1 is for the belt tensioner, and not sure why its on except for maybe because the car sat for a few yrs. The timing belt and related items where done about 30k miles ago. Im looking into why it comes on and get at least a reason why its on before auction is over if I have time. Ill even fix it if they have time to get it in next week. EXTERIOR:the body again not too bad of shape. There are a few dents, which to me look like low speed dents from getting too close to poles etc it looks like. Body lines look great all around, all the glass is in good shape. Ft windshield was replaced at about 100k. Youll see in a few pics the old window tint was peeling. Ive since removed it all for an original look. It did do its job pretty well and helped keep the interior nice over the yrs here in Az. So all the glass is free of aftermarket window tint now and crystal clear. IF there is a winner, and if they want the car tinted again professionally, we can do that for them if they want before the car ships for about $200 or less. In any % darkness you want. Ask for details
SUSPENSION:the suspension looks normal and very original for its age. 4 wheel factory Disc all around is all there and accounted for. I see normal wear n tear at best and OEM components where they belong too. I See zero signs of any rust or rot. OEM Chrome wheels are a nice touch and in pretty nice shape. Personally Id change the tires soon, just because these are older and they ride hard. It deserves a nice set of Michelins or similar tires on it. I buy tires are wholesale prices so if you buy it and want tires put on it before it ships out, just ask. I can do it for a very fair price. HANDLES very well, even with the older tires on the car. 1 tire specifically feels like it has a big flat spot on it from sitting for a long time low on air. The more I drive it, the better it feels. But really a new set would do wonders for this car. Check out ALL the pics below ----->
it may take a full minute for them all to load ifyou have a slow connection, so be patient AND looks for the extra scroll bar on the right side. Az gets maybe 9" a yr of rain and Az very dry climate. more infoAFTER the pics etc. There are 100 large pics.
There you have it, probably The BEST represented Porsches online ! Shows you all the good as well as any bad, hope you them We put a lot of time and effort in marketing our cars. People wait months for a car this solid to come up for sale and even if you have to pay shipping to your area, it still beats paying a body shop to hopefully fix a rusty car for weeks. Having as much as the original steel on a restored car speaks volumes. Also, if you buy a car thats been "restored", who knows what surprises are hidden under new paint or thick undercoating. People are flipping cars all the time when most of the jobs are fast, for a quick buck and quality suffers.

On Oct-22-18 at 08:31:47 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE 10-22-19 : took my daughter to school in the carthis morning, its about a 10 round trip and the belt tension light never came on. I should probably say it goes on and off periodically, not every time I drive the car. ALSO: interior, the front driver side carpet is pretty worn on the driver side. The stock floormat covers it but its old too and bunches up. For now I just removed it and the padding temporarily.
