Description of 1980 Porsche 911 SC |
1980 Porsche 911 *SURVIVOR* ONLY 59K ORIGINAL MILES!! NO RESERVE AUCTION Highest bidder = NEW OWNER Auction Ends: Sunday December 30th at 7:00 PM PST If you are interested in ending the auction early and buying the car right now, please contact me with your offer. Thanks (458) 233-3372 Thank you for checking out this unbelievable investment quality Porsche 911. Here is a great opportunity for someone to buy a very hard to find car. This is one of the nicest original 911's I have seen in many years. It only has 59K miles on itand has been garage kept all of its life. As a well preserved classic European sports car, the care over the years is apparent around every nook and cranny. This truly is a nice, tight, dry, and solid car. Porsche 911's have been an enthusiast car for years and their value is climbing every day. This is an investment quality car that you can enjoy driving and admire while the value continues to grow. This car was purchased in California about 4 or 5 years ago by my friend Mike. The previous owner owned the car for many years. Mike isn't sure if the previous owner bought it new, but he definitely owned it for a long time. While in California in the 80's, a popular thing to do was convert a targa into a cabriolet. This car originally was a targa top car and has been converted to a cabriolet. This was a professionally installed kit and at the same time a fiberglass rear deck lid with a whale tail was added. There was a cabriolet kit that you could purchase that would change your targa top car into a convertible. It would not affect the structural integrity of the car, because it was a targa top already. Once installed, all targa top original hardware is still in use with the cabriolet top maintaining a nice fit. This was a very clean conversion job done right. This really gives the car a great appearance and does all kinds of good things for this car. I absolutely love whale tails on 911's! Mike drove the 911 sparingly, but did say that nothing felt better than driving it on a winding mountain road in the summer with the top down. This summer, Mike came to a point where he was ready to sell his idolized Porsche. The title is not in my name but is properly signed and released as well as a bill of sale. I will be handling the complete transaction. The winning bidder of this NO RESERVE auction will receive a properly released title and bill of sale. This car is an absolute joy to drive, a real "driver's car." With only 59K miles, the steering and suspension have a firm and responsive feel of a much newer performance car. The handling is very precise and it truly shines in the corners. The brakes have a nice firm feel and at hard stops it doesn't hop or pull. The brake system was completely gone through within the last year. (New lines, new calipers, new rotors and pads.) The clutch feels nice and has a predictable release/engage position. All of the gears shift smoothly and there is no strange grind or sounds. The motor fires right up, runs outstanding, and performs fantastic. The tires are in great shape, around 80%, and show nice even wear. The wheels are in exceptionally nice condition. We believe this to be an original numbers matching car but have not verified. We posted pictures of both the motor and transmission numbers. (see pics showing cast numbers) It is amazing how many thumbs up (from all types of people) a person gets driving this. It is a great looking car, but better yet, it is a clean, solid, rust free, original car. Coming from California, and then to Oregon, this car has not seen the elements like many others out there today. This is a RUST FREE solid car! The body and paint finish is really nice, free from dents or major flaws. There are a couple of minor imperfections(see pics)shown in close up photos below. Please take the time to view all pictures below and read the whole ad completely. There is a lot of valuable information. This car has never been in an accident and all of the body lines are straight and true. The doors, trunk, deck lid, all open and close very nice. The top is in really nice shape and seals very well. All of the jams and hinges are beautiful. Every original ID sticker is there and legible. Notice in the pictures the light rub marks on both sides of the top. This is from when the top is in the down position. The top lowers and raises quickly and easily. Check out how nicethe top and back window are! Please take the time to check out the 100 plus photographs below. It is absolutely amazing how rust free this car is and how clean the non detailed undercarriage is. The floor pan is outstanding and rust free. Under the hood is equally nice and original. You will notice that there is a battery ON/OFF switch to cut the power while the vehicle is parked in the garage for any extended period of time. There is also a nice stereo system including a CD changer and amp installed under the hood. The carpet under the hood is nice, the spare tire area is unbelievably clean, and it even still has the original tool kit! This is a really complete intact car every where you look! The interior is in great shape. Check out the pictures below where you can see the perfect floor pans underneath the carpet. Rust free, solid, AMAZING!! The original seats are very comfortable and show very well. There are no rips, stains, or weird smells. The carpet is original and is very nice. The dash is in great shape, no curls or cracks to be found. The gauge cluster looks like new and all of the gauges work properly. All of the lights, horn, turn signals, wipers, power windows, heater fan, and convenience lights work as they should. The air conditioning has been converted over to 134 and blows cool. The stereo has aftermarket components with an amplifier and it sounds great! I have done my best to accurately describe this car to you as well as document the condition with over 100 detailed photographs. It is impossible to describe every tiny flaw on a classic car. Please study the pictures and make your own assessment. This is a wonderful car and the new owner will surely be nothing less than ecstatic to have this parked in the garage.
