Description of 1986 Porsche 944 Leather |
I can't imagine that there is more than a handful of first year production 1986 Black on Black 944 Turbo's with "original paintâ€. And please be sure to read the listing before asking questions. I have been very thorough............ and I will only reply to questions that have not been covered. Further we all know what the 944 Porsche Turbo market is getting its long overdue recognition and I have spared no expense updating this one to new like condition... Cosmetically the car is as good as it gets and the paint well "look at the reflections in the photosâ€. The car is 30+ years old and as such the car has a small nick on one of the rear rims and one barely noticeable ding. The interior is pretty much flawless for 30year old car. However there is a crack on one of the rear jump seats which is mostly blocked out by the seat belt. First timers the rear jump seats are vinyl and the car has never been smoked in. Drive abillity the car is very tight with the struct brace and the Goodyear F1 Tires. Experts ratings and test track videos at Tire Rack, the tires were best in class when purchased.https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Goodyear&tireModel=Eagle+F1+GS-D3&partnum=35VR8F1GSD3 Factory Air system has not been updated. I have sunroof bag and I leave the sunroof in the open position and close it manually since the electric mechanism failed. Further to open or close the roof you simply need a 10mm ratchet and there is easy access on the inside of the rear fender.
I have boxed all the original parts and I also kepped the original catalytic converter and as such you can bring this car back to stock if that is what you are looking for? Then sell the upgraded parts and obviously the original components that I do have are included with the winning bid. All upgrades listed below are divided into sections. 1. Detailing - cosmetic upgrades 2. Some typical plug in performance upgrades. Cosmetic upgrades/replacements: 1. All rubber reconditioned. 2. New wheel well stone chip protectors 3. Noise insulating hood pads. 4. Coolant tank 5. Headlights to bright color/type 6. Fog light protectors upgraded 7. Front turn signal protectors upgraded and amber bulbs 8. Aluminum Turbo door sills 9. Aluminum shifter nob with leather boot 10. Aluminum cluster done by VDO California 11. Aluminum performance gauges on the driver pillar 12. Aluminum factory hood badge 13. Aluminum steering wheel badge 14. Porsche 930 Steering wheel 15. Porsche rear emblem 16. Porsche "silver lettering" on black floor mats 17. Spacers front and back 18. Cross drilled rotors Performance upgrades: 1. Lindsey Racing computer chip 2. Lindsey Racing 3" exhaust from headers back 3. Lindsey Racing blow off valve 4. LindseyRacing manual turbo boost 5. Racing strut brace 6. Borla Racing muffler 7. Quick shiftter 4Further I put a new timing belt and water pump plus all new rollers before the car went into storage. Since then the camshaft gasket is leaking which is not as bad as you might initially think. In that the rubber timing belt should be replaced even thought it has very little miles on it. The good news is that timing belt has too come out as part of the camshaft gasket service and I was quoted $1,250.00. IMPORTANT to note that an honest Porsche garage specialist won't try to double dip your wallet, saying that you also have too pay for the belt service on top of the camshaft service. Most 944 rookies including myself fall into this money grab and then the join Porsche club to live and learn from other people that know better. Further if I was keeping the car and since I am already there "mechanic lingo" I would upgrade to the Lindsey Racing camshaft gasket and I would also upgrade the camshaft cover. There is a core credit once you return the old one, links below. https://www.google.com/search?q=944+powder+coated+cam+cover&tbm=isch&source=univ&client=firefox-b-d&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiriqyN0MbgAhWJIDQIHa7DAwAQ7Al6BAgFEA0&biw=1120&bih=564#imgrc=omgKZ9141UChNM: https://www.lindseyracing.com/LR/Porsche/944-105-199-03-RCS.html The car has been stored for the last 5 years and I drive it every 2 to 3 weeks to ensure that everything stays functional - lubricated. Further I do reserve the right to end this auction at any time as the car is also listed locally 778 988 7798. |
