Luxury Grand Tourer is how Porsche marketed the all new 928 that was produced for purchase from 1978 through 1995. It originally was designed to replace the 911...Wait, replace? Yes, initially the higher ups at the time thought the 911 was a dying breed and they needed a more sophisticated car, a car that had the power, noise and handling of a sports car but the refinement and equipment of a luxury car. That idea lasted a short time but... they continued to offer the 928 as well as the 911. It was the companies first run at a front engine water cooled design. This particular 928 has been owned by the same owner since 2009 and has gone through several services with the car. Additional service history is also provided with the car that date back to the late 1980's. The car was purchased new in Santa Monica, CA where it remained the majority of its life. Since moving to Michigan it has never seen a winter and has always had climate controlled storage. This 928 still retains its original paint and interior with the interior panels showing typical wear and tear for these cars. The Paint still shines nicely and the tires and brakes are good. It is the desirable 5-speed manual transmission which makes it a delight to drive.
