I am selling my 1983 Porsche 911 SC project car. It needs an engine, but otherwise this car has been stored in climate controlled storage for the last 18 years and is in excellent shape from top to bottom. If you're looking to get into the air-cooled Porsche market you'll be hard pressed to find another starting point as clean as this one.
I bought this car to finish and enjoy, but personal reasons have forced me to sell it. I am extremely disappointed as I don't think I'll find another opportunity like this. The paint shines, the body is straight with zero rust, and the interior is in great shape.
The car was recently detailed and has new hood/trunk shocks, new carpet, a new Bosch battery, a new Kenwood radio, and a MoMo steering wheel. I will also include a new cover for the car.
If you want, I can put you in touch with a Porsche specialist in New Jersey that currently has three engines available (two 3.0 engines and one 3.2 engine, which will also fit).
When I bought the car it had an aftermarket tail on it that I removed. I will include the tail in the sale if you want and you can re-install it if you like. If you want to leave it off then the engine lid will need some minor repair and paint work (picture is attached).
The headlights and turn signals all work. The electric windows need some minor work to fully operate (a new fuse is needed and perhaps a new switch for the passenger window). The sunroof may also need some adjustment. I was unable to dig deeply into these items to sort them out, but they are very minor for a 36 year old car otherwise in perfect shape.
The mileage is unknown for the following reason: the odometer in the car shows ~70,000 miles, however I have a CARFAX report which shows odometer readings during the lifetime of the car higher than that. I don't have a full explanation of this fact but it never caused me any concern since I was going to source the engine I wanted and refresh anything mechanical that needed it.
The title is clean and I have it in hand.
