1980 Porsche 911SC Euro Coupe

call or text us at415-205-0716 This 1980 Porsche 911SC, originally sold in Berlin, Germany, was imported into the US by an American fighter pilot, in 1985. The car was serviced by a reputable Porsche repair shop in the Seattle area until it was sold in 1994 to the mechanic that had worked on it since 1985. The car is finished in it’s original color of Guards Red, over black leatherette interior with very rare velour Pasha inserts. Power comes from the original 3.0-liter flat-six engine (type 930/09) mated to it’s original type 5-speed manual (type 915/62) gearbox. Recent compression test measured 155psi in each cylinder. This 911SC is being offered with it’s original owner’s manual and service book, import paperwork when imported into the US, service records, registration history and a clean Washington title.
BELOW ARE FIVE PHOTO SLIDESHOWS AND TWO VIDEOS. CLICKING ON ANY OF THE SLIDESHOWS WILL LAUNCH A SCROLLABLE PHOTO GALLERY IN A SEPARATE BROWSER WINDOW.
EXTERIOR BODY SLIDESHOW For the 1980 model year, the 911SC featured headlamp rings and side mirrors painted in the exterior color, as well as black anodized door handles. Guards Red (L027) paint is in very good condition with only one professional windows out respray. Minor paint blemishes include some small stone chips on driver side mirror, one ding and one very small touch up. Factory ordered tinted glass with one stone chip on windshield. Exterior paint meter measurements range from 6.6 to 14.5 mils. Body is all original with no evidence of accident repair. All opening panel gaps are excellent. Exterior equipment includes Euro-spec rear bumperettes, H4 headlights, a front spoiler, a driver-side and optional passenger-side mirror and optional rear wiper.
INTERIOR SLIDESHOW The black leatherette seats feature freshly upholstered velour Pasha inserts and are manually adjustable. A stock 3-spoke leather steering wheel is retained, and a Kenwood cassette stereo is mounted in the crack free original dash. The stock VDO gauges are functioning properly. A 180-mph speedometer was installed following the vehicle’s importation to the US. Odometer currently shows 186,093 miles with the service records documenting mileage at 124,575 miles in 1992.
SUSPENSION SLIDESHOW Original 16” x 6" and 16" x 7" Fuchs alloy wheels are wrapped in Toyo Z-rated tires. Documentation notes installation of turbo tie rods, Koni shocks, stainless brake lines, lowered suspension and alignment/balance. Brakes are in excellent working order. ENGINE & TRANSMISSION SLIDESHOW The 3.0-liter flat-six is paired with a 915 5-speed manual transaxle, and factory output for 1980 Euro models was 188 horsepower when new. The original engine serial number 6302129 (type 930/09) indicates the car as a RoW example. The RoW engines for this year had the larger intake valves. A professional top end rebuild of the original engine was completed approximately 50k miles ago. A recent compression test measured 155 psi at each cylinder. The prior owner was a professional Porsche mechanic who has handled all maintenance items and performed the top end rebuild. The hydraulic chain tensioner and pop off valve updates are installed. The original type 915/62 transmission (number 7302332) is installed. The Euro specification transmissions had a slightly higher ratio 5th gear.
DOCUMENTATION & PARTS SLIDESHOW Included are the original owner's manual and service book, import paperwork when imported into the US, service log, service records, and a clean Washington title. The Porsche Productions Specifications (PPS) documents the factory colors, options (Equipment for Germany, higher amperage battery, plain electric mirror-right, forged alloy wheels, rear wiper, white fog headlamps, black roofliner, without rear model designation, tinted glass, sunroof, Pirelli tires) and shows a production date of December 1979 with German delivery. Accessories include original toolkit, jack and spare wheel.
