1968 Porsche 912. Vin 12803989. Odometer Displays 85,960 Miles (TMU). Irish Green. Black Leatherette Interior. Clean Title. Rust Free. This sharp looking 912 is a local car that has been with our client for over 3 years. He purchased this vehicle from a gentleman in Colorado and drove it very little. On average, probably 3 times a year. He annually kept up with the oil changes. In regards to the cosmetic standing of this 912, everything is in really nice shape! The car has been repainted and the paint looks great. There are a few tiny blemishes in the patina but overall it is a 9 out of 10. The interior appears to be recently refurbished. The seats are fresh and all the carpeting is clean and neat. The dash is crack free and all the gauges and buttons are i an nice preserved condition. Mechanically, this car is spot on as it has received a good amount of recent maintenance to bring it up to par. Early this year, our client decided to part with this beaut because he wasn’t driving it enough. We decided to have a closer look at what was needed in order to bring this car up to top shape. We started by replacing the fuel tank along with the fuel pump in order to clean the entire system out. It is very common for these older cars to retain their original fuel tank, which may have a corrosion residue. We continued the maintenance by rebuilding the carburetors and putting in new spark plugs along with new engine mounts. Upon closer body inspection, we’ve noticed that the front battery pan was worn out, and there was a little play in one of the control arms. It is well known that these early chassis were not galvanized and after a certain time, some items will need replacing. We commissioned a well skilled body expert to replace this area and were extremely happy with the result! It’s now rock solid and is an excellent investment.
