Meant to replace the 911.....wait, what? Yes, that is correct. The Porsche 928 was the new sophisticated Porsche designed and built to replace the ever so loved and coveted 911. Porsche executives truly believed at the time that the 928 which they were referring to the flagship car would have a much broader appeal than the 911. However, we all knew what actually happened. The 928 however did offer refinement, comfort, power and equipment that was not offered on what was considered a quirky dying breed of the 911. A few different subtle styling changes as well as increase in power from year to year was offered. Now getting down to this unique 928. This car was purchased brand new by the current seller in the Detroit, MI area and has spent time back and forth here to South Carolina its entire life. These cars were highly sophisticated and furthermore expensive for the time. I have the original window sticker showing MSRP was nearly 38,000.00 as well as the original owners manuals, keys and every stitch of paperwork including service and maintenance receipts since brand new. The car was purchased July 1980 by a doctor and was driven every single day for many years. Also included is the original dealer pamphlets, ID cards etc.. This car has received one repaint but the interior is all original. Pricing on this car reflects it not being a perfect car. However, it was just driven here to our business from a couple hundred miles away with no drivability issues. The A/C is complete but does not blow cold, the passenger side window opens partially and a few more odds and ends. This is a great candidate for a restoration of a stock, one owner rig with all paperwork.
