Description of 1973 Porsche 914 |
You are bidding on a Very Clean and Very Solid 1973 Porsche 914. This is a solid southern Porsche! It has the 1.7 engine with the 5 speed manual transmission. The car was originally Signal Orange but is currently Forest Green (an original Porsche Color) with black interior. This is a very original 2 owner car that has spent its life kept inside! The second owner purchased the car from John Smith Porsche Audi in Kingsport TN (now Rick Hill Porsche) in 1974. He always kept the car inside in his basement. The car basically sat in the basement till the mid 80’s when he decided to repaint the car Forest Green. The paint job was a very nice paint job including all the jambs as you can see in the pictures. The car was once again parked in 1989, the last time the car would be licensed for the road. He would start and drive the car from time to time and had it converted to webbers (the original Fuel injection was kept in a box and will be included with the car) but never tagged the car it just basically sat for the last 30 years. When I purchased the car it came with a lot of paperwork. It has the original owners manual, Warrenty Book, the Temporary Drive out tag, and several tag recipts, and insurance cards. The car also has the original spare, Jack and the original Tools in the original Tool Bag. The car also has the original Targa Top as well as a Sara Toga Top!! The car is in really good shape!! The paint is very nice. It is showing some age in a few spots but looks very nice. The interior is very nice with no rips in the seats, and only a minor crack in the dash. The carpets are nice as well. There are a few spots you can see the original orange paint, mainly under the carpet, and in the engine compartment. I point these out in the video. As you can see in the pictures they did a job in the jambs, and in the trunks. This is a nice car. The Car starts runs and drives good, and the Brakes and emergency brakes work good. The clutch and transmission works good. The car will need tires as they are dry rotted and pretty old. Please watch the videos and look at the pictures.
