This 1981 Porsche 924 Turbo is a great find for car enthusiasts. It has been restored and updated for reliability and more power. Miles are TMU. The original 85mph speedo marked around 1000 miles. I changed it out as I wanted the 150mph speedometer. I still have the original one. With working AC,, this vehicle is perfect for weekend drives and long road trips. Vehicle Details This 1981 Porsche 924 Turbo Coupe 2-door 2.0l is a true enthusist drivers car. It's handles like a porsche and performs like one too. History: I've owned this car for 8 years. I found it abandoned outside of a house, non-running and in bad condition. I knocked on the door and with a stroke of luck the owner answered and we made a deal. I took it to my then new home a few blocks away. At the time I was single, fast forward 8 years; a wife and a 3rd kid that was just delivered this week, I'm not going to have the time to enjoy the car like I have. This is the reason I'm selling. With a 3rd kid my whole family no longer fits for ice cream runs and such and know it'll just sit in the garage and get driven a few times a year. About the car: It's been disassembled from head to toe several times and I've done just about all the work with the exception of the head resurfacing and valve guides. I have receipts for mostly everything. Factory 931 with the m471 Performance Package: sport seats, front and rear sway bars, 5x130 and disk brakes all around. This car is not equipprd with an LSD. Maintenance/Reliability Items: Total seal piston rings, Cometic MLS Head Gasket, all engine gaskets, spark plugs, 300 miles on Bilstien Shocks, all new front suspension bushings. Refreshed seals on the air box. Body gaskets and seals. Front Glass. Working AC! Upgrades/Modifications: Converted to EFI - Megasquirt 2 ECU, 550cc Injectors, Honda Fuel Rail, 31 Trigger Wheel. Spark is controlled by the Megasquirt2 using Ford EDIS, 1 bar Porsche 930 Wastegate Spring, Front Mount Intercooler, wideband 02 Sensor, 924S 150mph speedometer (still have original 85mph). Euro Bumpers I have a ton of spares included. 0-60 5.4 seconds. Original wheels will come with the sale as well as the BBS Wheels shown. The original turbo sport seats are in my garage and may be included with the sale depending on negotiations, they need to be reupholstered. Cosmetically it's not perfect but photgraphs well. A few small issues with the interior like the C pillars being destroyed by a water leak by the dreaded rear glass delamination which has been fixed. Exterior Paint needs a good cut and buff. |
