Description of 1971 Porsche 911 Targa |
1971 Porsche 911 E Targa Einspritzung - Zuffenhausen’s secret weapon COA matching numbers VIN: 9111210552 Engine: 611127 Original Conda Green paint 2626 This is a rare find in the world of early 911’s. Production numbers for 1971 were only 10599 cars of which only 2023 “E” were built and only 935 Targa’s . The E model were considered the Luxury version. but these were a secret weapon . because they were actually quicker off the line than the more track oriented S model. This was due to a different camshaft profile for better in town driving. The E’s were rated at 155 hp. The E and S models both came with MFI fuel injection. This car still has its expensive MFI system on the car. This is a system that was jointly designed by Porsche and Bosch and was originally built for the Carrera 6 race program. The engine is a 2. 2 liter . This E’s engine is the correct matching number engine according to the COA included with the car. It runs out very strong and seems not to have any issues. It does have the typical leaks that old 911’s have. but it still performs great. The 911 E came with Hydro-pneumatic struts. but like most this car has been swapped out for the more traditional torsion bar/ strut set up. The brakes and suspension is tight and does not have any issues. The car is free from rust and does not appear to have any body damage. Unfortunately it was repainted Black some time ago. The paint is nice and has a good luster. But under this is the original Conda green. One of the most unique and sought after colors you can get. We originally intended to restore this car to its original color. but with it overall great condition we thought someone else might want it as is or do there own project. The interior is all-original except door panels and carpet. The seats are the original 71 seats. and are in good condition except a small tear in the stitching on the drivers seat. The door panels have the original arm rests and tops but. new panels were made in place of the missing floppy pockets. The Targa top is in very good condition. it has a fabric top upgrade. All the lights and gauges work proper. Driving this 911 E is a pleasure going down the road. All the sounds. top off - convertible style and general Porsche characteristics make this an iconic car of its age. We buy and sell Classic 911’s and they are our passion.
