Description of 1957 Chevrolet Nomad BELAIR |
You are looking at my 57 Nomad project. I rarely sell cars from my collection. Only reason I’m selling this is to buy another car I’ve got my eye on (in other words. no trades). This car was last Pa inspected in 1973. When I found it. it had a 327 and a 4 speed which I have removed. This is a very complete car but needs a frame off restoration. I’m not going to waste pictures showing rust holes in the floors. Trust when I say it needs all floors. braces. body mounts and rocker panels replaced. It also needs the door bottoms replaced. The hood is solid but heavily modified so figure on replacing that too. The front fenders just need the lower patch panels and are otherwise solid and straight. The quarter panels appear to be solid. The tail gate looks solid but I can’t open it. The roof and drip edges are solid. Under the hood. all the inner fenders. vent ducts and core support are solid. The frame is also solid. The rear is the original. Car was P/B. P/S and electric wiper. I left the clutch pedals and linkage in if you want to keep it stick. The original radiator is included. The exterior stainless trim is all intact. The driver side front fender piece is in the car (has a dent). The driver door piece has one dent. Otherwise. the exterior stainless trim is straight and just needs buffed. Any exterior trim made of pot metal or chrome plated steel is pitted and needs restored. Other than one cracked wing window. all the glass is intact and usable. The only things unoriginal in the interior are the steering wheel and the front bucket seats (59 T-bird power buckets). The dash is nice and uncut. The trim needs a little polish. Original radio intact. All of the door panels and upholstery need replaced however I will note the headliner still looks pretty nice. All of the rare. Nomad only chrome plated interior and headliner trim looks good but does have mind pitting. It polishes up nice but if you want a 100pt show car. it will need re-chromed. The title is a PA Salvage title in my name. It is transferable for $10. no sales tax. If you are a Pa buyer. a salvage title means you must reconstruct the car. document the build and then you can get a clear title in your name. Since the car needs a complete restoration. getting a clear title when you are done will be no problem. Outa state buyers should have no problem getting a clear title when they bring it into their state. SUMMARY: This car needs a complete restoration but you would be starting out with a fairly complete base. It wouldn’t be hard to make it original (find 283 PG & a front seat) or do a modest hot rod build and have a $50000+ car. Or go all out with an Art Morrison chassis and an LS. No matter what the economy does. or how you build them. Nomads hold their value. At my no reserve. opening bid. you can’t lose. Dave at 570-527-3450. Please ask all questions prior to bidding and remember that your bid is contract. E-bay is not a game. Don’t bid unless you want to buy this car. Buyers with 0 feedback will be required to contact me to verify interest. or risk having bids canceled. At the close of the auction. I require a $500 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit within 48 hours. The deposit will hold the car for 10 days. The deposit is non refundable if you back out of the deal. At the time of pick up. bring cash. I will not ship. however I will gladly work with your shipping company and help them load after full payment is made. Good luck bidding & thank you for checking out my Nomad. |
