Description of 1985 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit/Spur/Dawn Silver Spirit |
This Rolls Royce Silver Spirit has had 3 owners in its lifetime. It was always garaged and/or placed in storage. It spent sometime in a car museum in Las Vegas. The car was in apparent good shape when I bought it from its second owner: no body rust (it has a steel roof, o landau roof to hide leaks), ts engine was purring. I crossed the US from Tampa, L to Tucson, Z with a stopover in Houston to leave it to a luxury car/RR specialist for full inspection and repair of mechanical/electrical issues that appeared in the first 1,000 miles. This first batch of repairs and updates was complemented in the next 2 years with other repairs carried out by 2 reputable shops in Tucson. I append a list of the repairs that were done on the car below. On my way to Tucson, he odometer stopped working. I had it repaired in Houston, X: it reads 69,982 miles -- I add 1K miles to the listing to reflect the distance between Tampa, L and Houston, X. The first owner had the paint of the car entirely redone to factory specifications, nd all 3 shops that worked on the car confirmed the paint was in excellent condition. On my way to Tucson, replaced the Hancook tires (which had suffered from dry rot) at Tire Kingdom with 4 BFG P235/70R15. There is a spare under the trunk. The original radio has been replaced with a touch-sensitive panel that doubles up as a GPS (service needs activation) and receives Sirius XM radio (needs activation). IMPORTANT NOTES:The driver seat leather shows sign of aging, nd there are a couple of cracks in the leather of the driver door. The original steering wheel has been replaced with a beautiful wood steering wheel but the horn does not function and needs a part which I haven't replaced. There is a small scratch in the driver's door window tinting. The cruise control does not function, never replaced the unit. The photos describe the condition of the car. Additional photos of specific parts/sections can be requested by serious bidders. The car is currently in storage. LIST OF REPAIRS DONE: - Odometer -Temperature gauge - Driver sideview mirror - Undercarriage tow hook - Fuel pump - Exhaust resonator - Catalytic converter (unclogged) - Engine mount - Transmission pan gasket - Upper ball joints - Lower ball joints - Sway bar links, ushings - Power steering hose line - Rocker cover gasket/seal - Oil pan gasket - Inspection and repair of all electricals (incl. low/high beams, urn signals) - A/C compressor - Spark plugs - Motor tune-up (air fuel mixture) - Rack & pinion (passenger side) - Cooling line - Small dent in lower right corner of windshield (repaired by Safelite Autoglass) - New battery In total, invested well over $12,000 in repairs and parts changes, nd I initially bought the car for $17,900. I am motivated to sell but I reserve the right to pull the car out of auction if I am proposed a good deal by any one of the local luxury car dealers. |
