Description of 1984 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit/Spur/Dawn Great driver!

1984 Rolls-Royce Silver Spur The Silver Spirit . introduced by Rolls-Royce at the end of 1980. was the first of a new generation of models for the company. From the Silver Shadow roots. it is a large and handsome car distinguished by four rectangular headlamps set in rectangular frames with wrap-around side and warning lights. with greater slope to the windscreen and rear window. an extension forward of the rear bumper on each side. and with slight uplift of the lower rear corners of the rear windows. Induction for the V-8 engine was changed to Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection. and the compression ratio increases to 8. 0:1. A new rear suspension incorporating gas springs. adjusts the ride to the load and aids cornering. An improved air conditioning system supplies two climate levels. The instrument board now features an electronic digital display for time. temperature. speed. elapsed time. road icing and other factors. The leather upholstery is as elegant as ever. The somewhat sleeker appearance of the car is accompanied by 30 percent more glass area. The overall length of the car is 207 3/4 inches. The Company offered a long wheelbase version of the Silver Spirit. This car. the Rolls-Royce Silver Spur. is about four inches longer at 211 3/4 inches overall. On offer here is a delightful Silver Spur of 1984 vintage. One of only 200 cars built in 1984. this metuclously maintained and cared for car presents well in metallic blue with a blue leather interior with cream piping. The paint on the car is very good with minimal scuffs . but no dings or dents. Brightwork finish is good. and wheels are scuff-free and shod with good tires. Glass is excellent but for a small star crack in the windshield. Carfax certifies that the car has never been in an accident and there is no evidence of accident repair or paintwork. The interior is also very good. Dash is excllent. with but a small crack from one corner of the windshield vent on the top. about ½ an inch long. Door panels are excellent with the desirable option of wood insert panels. The wood cappings are all delaminated and in need of repair. however. The headliner is excellent. but could do with a detail. The leather on the seats is generally excellent. still very soft and supple. The back of the driver’s seat is showing wear and unfortunately has a 3-4 inch crack. photographed. Carpets are also excellent. apart from a small crack in the overmat on the driver’s side and a poor sheepskin overmat on that side. The sheepskin seat covers have been on the car from day one and there are a complete set of sheepskin overmats. Mechanically. the car is in excellent condition. The owner of over 15 years. spared no expense in servicing and maintaining the car. It has been regularly serviced by a local marque expert and the substantial file of records amounts to over $33. 00! The engine is in excellent tune. and has an abundance of torque and power. It shifts perfectly through the automatic gearbox. Brakes are excellent and pull the car up in a straight line. and the self levelling suspension works perfectly. It sags at the rear after several days of no use. but raises immediately the car is started again. just as it should. All other systems work as they should. The car comes complete with original books and a clean. clear California title. This is a great opportunity to purchase a piece of classic English elegance at very reasonable cost.
