Description of 1988 Saab 900 Base Hatchback 2-Door |
I have Complete Service records on this car from April 1993 until present. I am the 3rd owner. Runs good. 171,xxx miles. Was just serviced 8-25-17 at Taliaferro Saab in Springfield, MO. 5-speed manual. Shifts smooth. Tires are like new with very little wear. Battery is 8 months old. The car is a hatchback design (the back seat will fold down), so it is easy to load and can handle many odd shaped things, i.e. a bicycle. The driver and passenger doors open and shut perfectly; no sagging. The hood and hatchback also open and shut perfectly. Given it's age it has it's share of blemishes, scratches and some rust. The rust is located over the front tire panels and a spot below the spoiler--I show pics of all this. There is a few rips in the side of the front seat (see pics). Cloth is off the passenger door (see pics). There are cracks in the dashboard (see pics). The radio does not work, although the lights light up. The A/C works but it does not blow very cold air; needs freon. Here is just the maintenance history over the past 12 months. (I have the previous 23 years repair receipts as well):--October 2016, all drive belts replaced --December 2016, Dash lights replaced--all 15 bulbs, turn signal and flasher replaced, adjusted belts.--January 2017, battery replaced.--July 2017, fuel distributor lines replaced--August 2017, reset timing/fuel pressures, replaced spark plugs, replaced idle air valve. This car is fun to drive, handles nicely and has a unique body style. My reason for selling is that I own too many cars, 3 of them antiques. 2 of them need to go. Thanks for looking. |
