Description of 1965 Shelby FORD SHELBY COBRA FFR CHALLENGE COMPETITION |
1965 Factory Five MKIII Cobra Replica Factory Race Car - Now Street-able This is a unique opportunity to own a true competition cobra. This Cobra recreation is not like a average or flimsy street "kit car" that's pretty, but ready or able to handle a grueling race conditions. This one is a full race tested and proven track competitor. If has raced at most of the big west coast race tracks in the NASA series. The first video of it in competition with early Mustang GT350's, early Camaros, Porsche's and more at Laguna Seca in 2011. The second is of her at California Speedway on the High Banks passing Cobras, Corvettes, Mustangs, more... What makes this one extra cool is that it has been converted to, register and is drivable on the street. That's right, seriously fast, loud and wild looking. Drive a full competition Cobra to go to the grocery store! The best part is the car is its rock solid, no issues, rattles, loose connections. Drives straight as an arrow, has breath taking acceleration, sounds monstrous and is 100% reliable. The Big Ford 302 with Multiport Injection mated to a T5 5speed is reliable and bullet proof, plus easy to get parts for. The over all look is very aggressive, even bad-ass. Nothing compares. Drive it daily, take it on a trip or go to muscle car or cobra club meets. She is titled as 1970 AC Cobra with open title and open bill of sale, vin number on title matching chassis plate. This one being titled and a early year Cobra, it is Smog Exempt in California and most anywhere else. Built to the 2011 spec for the FFR Challenge Series, and comes with a Ford302 High OutputV8, Tremec T5 transmission, Cobra brakes with drilled/slotted rotors. 22 Gallon fuel cell, Kirkey race seat for driver and passenger, driver seat mounted all the way back (I am 6', 1", 210), 5-point Crow harnesses, quick release pins for hood for ease of access at the track, Quick release steering wheel, Brake ducts for front cooling installed, running on Toyo 275/40 x17 full tread tires. She has may upgrades. Including the wiring for radio for Pits 2 Driver direct communications (see antenna), Also has a GoPro camera mount. She was last raced in 2011 and is up to most of the modern racing specs: newer fire extinguisher system, and fuel cell bladder. Still check with the Challenge series for most current specs. I am offering her with several options to consider: Some back ground: Factory Five Racing has built a purpose-built spec racer, which is based upon their FFR 65 Roadster with the addition of an integrated roll cage. The Factory Five Challenge Series racer uses Ford302 High OutputV8, T5 transmission, and provides the perfect combination of performance, safety, affordability and good looks. Although this car is strong & heavily built for race competition, it remains completely street legal, higher reliability than a home made kit. This Cobra is race proven . This is the ideal class for the person who has always wanted to own and experience the feel of one of America's most famous sportscars!
