Description of 1966 Shelby Cobra |
Every year the market is flooded with pre-owned replica Cobras. Seems as if your checkbook is handy, one can almost pick the preferred color with the click of your computer mouse. However, most are looking a little tired, driven hard or simply a color combination that would make you want to puke. If you're searching for something a little more unique, then consider this one as this Cobra replica is from a company called All American Classics inPennsylvania. Considered to be rare, the main difference is the rear fenders which are significantly wider, thus allowing for a wider wheel setup. The best part about this replica Cobra is it's California title. Yep, it's registered under the coveted "SB100" Specially Constructed Vehicle with a CHP VIN number. Just as you thought, this means no smog certification, nor California registration hassles for the life of the car. Now for the good stuff: Body: Kevlar reinforced fiberglass bodyPrecision fit pre-hung doors, hood and trunkDouble lined wheels wellsBi-level heater-defroster systemFinished inner door panels with pouch areaDoors are mounted on 2x3 steel box beams Chassis: Aircraft TIG weldedTriangulated design4 inch round tube main railsRemovable trans cross member Drivetrain: 428 Ford MotorAutomatic transmission9 inch Ford differentail Suspension: Alloy steel hubsHeat treated alloy sway barsCarrera hyper-charged coil over shocksWeight distribution - 49% Front 51% Rear Brakes: Wilwood 4-piston calipers12 inch rotorsStainless steel brake lines w/aircraft clampsDual master cylinder set on Neal balance beam pedal assembliesRear hat internal expanding emergency brake system Steering:Woodward rack and pinion steeringBorgeson needle bearing steering jointsSplined steering shaftsAluminum tilt steering column Fuel System: 17.5 gallon stainless steel baffled gas tankStainless steel fuel lines w/ aircraft adel clampsAnti-surge fuel filler assembly Interior: Alphapelli leather seatsMylar hood insulationStainless steel defroster ventsEnclosed battery baySecure electric trunk lockTrunk lid neutralized by gas strutsWood Cobra steering wheel The paint, chrome and glass all show very well with one exception to the left rear quarter panel. There is a scratch in the paint (see photo). Otherwise, this Cobra is ready to be used as a weekend driver or even a track car. Either way, there is a lot of value in this build and the asking price is far below most other replica Cobra's available. So with only 323 miles on the car, it's barely broken in and nearly brand new. The car must sell, so don't be shy, make a reasonable offer. Clear title in-hand. No warranty. Sold as-is. Inspections are encouraged if you're local. I'm in Laguna Hills, CA close to the 5fwy and 405fwy. I'm interested in a smooth hassle free transaction. So please have your finances in order and permission from your spouse if needed. I'll accept cash, wire transfer or US bank cashier's check (check must clear before car and title are released). Please message me with any and all questions. Thank you! |
