The 1967 GT 500 is one of America's most iconic muscle cars. According to the Shelby American Registry, this GT 500 was completed June 9th, 1967 and shipped to Johnny Bolton Ford of Maitland, FL. It was originally delivered in Lime Green to its first owner Mr. B. Herlong of Leesburg, Florida. A side oiler 427ci V8 was installed with a dry sump and bored out to 455ci producing almost 600bhp. The V8 is mated to a Doug Nash 5-speed manual gearbox with a 4:11 Detroit Locker rear end. Further enhancements include Edelbrock aluminum heads and intake, Dual CFM carbs with Holley electric pumps, trunk mounted fuel cell, Crane cam shaft, MSD ignition, Koni shocks, custom front and rear sway bars, and four-wheel disc brakes. It is also fitted with factory style Mag Star wheels. This Shelby has been collector owned for the past several years and always exceptionally cared for and maintained regardless of use. Recent servicing includes all fluids, new wiring harness, timing belt, head gaskets, ceramic header coating and a new clutch. Also fitted were racing harness seatbelts mounted to the roll cage. A wonderful example of classic American muscle, this GT 500 would certainly make a great addition to any collection or simply for touring pleasure and ready to be thoroughly enjoyed by its next muscle car enthusiast.
