Description of 1935 Studebaker Dictator Coupe |
This is a great project car for someone who wants to do a frame off restoration on a very valuable and rare car. The car is almost complete. However, t is missing the following: crank, il pan and hood ornament. This car is optioned with the following: Aluminum head, eater, nd front and rear bumpers. Overall the car is solid, ut there is damage where it looks like something fell on the roof at some point in the distant past and it was partially repaired (dents pulled). The rear of the body is rusted out in the rear lower body quarter panels and trunk. The front and rear fenders are separate and are solid and still retain some of the original paint. The head light buckets are in good shape as well. The main portion of the body retains a fair amount of original paint as well. Both doors open and close and are solid. All of the window glass is present, ut the rear window is in pieces. It can still be used as a pattern though. The front window is cracked, ut still in its frame. The seat is in good restorable shape as are the door and interior panels. All of the little interior bits and doodads appear to be present as best as I have been able to determine. Here is the history of the vehicle as I know it. I purchased this car from a gentleman who had taken the car off of the road to fix the body damage and an exhaust leak in 1968. The car was then partially dissembled by him in prep for restoration. This was never started and most of the car was stored in the overhead of his shop until I purchased it from him last year. I have not done much to the car other than remove the gas tank and remove some rusted bolts from the frame. There are 4 original wheels present, ut only one of them is in good enough condition to be used as a spare tire. The frame is still in rolling condition and will be easy to load onto a trailer. The car has a clean Washington state title. I can assist with loading if needed. I am happy to answer any questions if needed. Viewing after 5pm any day of the week. Located in Chinook, ashington near the coast. Non refundable deposit of $500 due within 48 hours of auction closing. Vehicle must be picked up within 14 days of the auction close date. The reserve is very, ery reasonable. There are 67 total pictures of the car located here: Studebaker Pictures If there is a picture of an area of the car missing in the listing, t is probably in the above link. If there is some other area of the car you would like a photo of, lease ask and I will take it and get it to you. |
