Description of 1959 Studebaker |
59 Lark 8 wagon (2door) auto. I got this car about 4 years ago it had quit running around 1998 I think. I did not get much info on it other than it came from Washington state . I believe that the timing chain is broke, but I have not taken it apart to see.( it is not locked up and still has oil in it.) I spent a couple months last winter doing the body work I cut out all of the rust and welded in new panels . I also cleaned the floors and put in new metal where needed. The filler work is done and in 2K primer .(it will need to be blocked and primed again to get ready for paint. The hoodis in good shape but the paint is cracked and will need to be stripped. All of the glass is good in the car.The seats and headliner is in good condition but the door panels are all bad. The frame and suspension are in good condition and the brakes still pump up.The bumpers are still in pretty fair shape. I blasted the original wheels and painted them and used the original hubcaps.I also have the radiator that appears to be good. Please look at all the pictures I think this could make a nice car. I am pretty sure that you could get the original engine running by rebuilding it. If you do not want to use the original engine I have a rebuilt Chevy 350 and rebuilt 350 turbo that I would sell for 1500.00 extra above what the car brings.
