Description of 1956 Studebaker J model Packard |
I purchased this car some time ago with the intentions of doing a full restoration. I own 2 restaurants and have 3 children, or now this is not a possibility. This is potentially a high dollar car. Although it is not a factory supercharged model. It is nonetheless a rare model Golden Hawk J equipped with a Packard V8 engine. Allegedly I am the 3rd owner and this is an original Pennsylvania car. The previous owner did some parts removal and began restoration to include rebuilding the carburetor, tarter, nd generator. The car appears to be complete. Door panels and trim were removed. Door panels are patterns only, tainless trim is in excellent condition. Dash assembly is in nice, lean, riginal condition. It currently has late model steering wheel. As far as the rust, he biggest offense is the rear trunk pan as pictured. There are some holes on the bottom of the 2 doors and a half of dozen quarter sized holes under the hood and misc. areas as I can see. The good news is that the body overall is extremely straight. I cannot find bondo anywhere. The doors open and close well. Remarkably the floors are in excellent shape. I believe they were re-manufactured and a great job at that. The carburetor is off the motor and was fully rebuilt, he intake was always covered. At one point the car rested in a barn for 25 years. This car does not run and will need going over. There are no dents and the front grille and bumper are super straight. This car is not a parts car. It is a solid 99% complete, olling restoration candidate. I have done my best to be accurate about its description. I have a clear PA title and key for the car.
