Description of 1959 Studebaker 4E7 E Series |
This is truly an amazing, rare, barn-find, Studebaker pickup. While the classic truck craze is going nuts, everyone has an old Chevrolet or Ford. No one has a Studebaker. I purchased this 4E7 truck from a man who bought an entire estate out of Nevada. This is in its original condition, with the exception of a brand new interior. The old interior, which was in the truck when I bought it, was gross and smelly, and it made it tough to drive this awesome truck. See the pics to see what the inside looked like when I bought it. The sheet metal is all original. And, while there is some surface rust, the panels are NOT rusted through and the floors are totally solid. There are some small pin holes in the cab corners. This truck sat in a barn for the last 30 years, and while it has some dents and bruises from boxes and farm equipment being piled on top of it (as you can see in the pics), these just ad to its originality and character. This 1959 Studebaker pick-up is in pretty much everyday running condition. It is VERY original, as you can see from the pics. Turn the key and it starts right up (after, of course, I rebuilt the original carburetor, drained and cleaned the gas tank, had the radiator professionally rebuilt, overhauled the brake system, and a few other small things including plugs/wires/distributor cap/rotor/points). The rear end (Dana 44) was just TOTALLY rebuilt by Lester's Automotive in Boerne, TX. I have the receipts for all of the work done. This pickup was very easy to get running. It has the 289 c.i. V-8 and a 3 speed manual transmission (with Borg Warner overdrive). It drives well and tracks straight down the road. It has BRAND NEW tires and a clear title. The interior is also all new. All of the metal inside the truck was sanded to bare metal, primed, and painted a creme color (with brown accents). The original seat was taken apart, the frame was sanded and painted, and the upholstery was professionally done (including new padding, of course). The seat is beautiful. A new firewall pad and new rubber floor mat has been installed. A new headliner kit has also been installed. The interior of this truck is really pretty, as you can see in the pics. I did NOT go through any of the dash gauges or electrics on the truck, so I do not know what does/doesn't work. I did purchase an BUILD SHEET from the Studebaker National Museum and this will go with the truck. The file of receipts will go with it as well, including an original Studebaker decal and the actual pages from the Dupont paint book, showing the original colors for the 1959 trucks (and many other years as well). Keep the outside original, or restore it to your taste. The buyer is responsible for shipping arrangements and for the total cost of shipping. Do NOT bid if you are a zero feedback buyer, unless you contact me first...otherwise, I will have to cancel your bid. I do have the truck for sale locally, so I might have to end the auction early, if it sells. This is a NO RESERVE auction...so, let the bidding begin! Good luck winning this super cool, old truck! |
