Description of 1948 Studebaker M15A |
Fusion Luxury Motors | eBay Template
The M-series Studebaker trucks came in several versions both pre and post WW II. The M-5 was a 1/2 ton PU. The M15 was the 3/4 ton version. The M15A was the one & 1-1/2 ton version. The M5, M15, and M15A all came with the Champion 169 ci. engine. The Studebaker US6 version was produced during the war to government specifications; using a different nose and engine configuration. In early 1945, Studebaker was given permission to produce some M Series trucks for civilian use. These early post war civilian trucks used the Studebaker US6 cab with the government style swing out windshield. The Studebaker M Series trucks could be had in any number of body styles. Only pickup beds were offered on the M5, M15, & M15A versions from the factory; however, through several custom body manufacturers, any number of configurations could be had on all versions. This example is an extremely rare 1948 STUDEBAKER M15A pickup. It is an all matching-numbered example and received a nut and bolt, off-frame, professional, concourse restoration in accordance with the included factory build sheet. Finished in its correct factory exterior and interior colors, the restoration also included a complete engine rebuild. It is simply the finest and most documented example existing. The M15A pickup has the same body (cab, fenders, hood etc.) as the M5, but has a longer bed, much stouter suspension and brakes, and the desirable hefty BUDD wheels. This M15A was a one family-owned pickup for 65 years and started its life on a farm in Minnesota. Vintage photos of the original farmer/owner are included in the sale. Also included are restoration photos, the factory build sheet, factory tool kit and jack, factory service apron, factory parts and service manuals, factory brochures, factory data documents and a 1948 Minnesota road map. Only a few hundred break-in miles on the restoration. Mint, concourse condition. Accepted and shown at the Carmel Concourse on the Avenue during the big historic car week. A photo of this pickup at this event with one of the Studebaker grandsons is included in the sale. This M15A could not possibly be duplicated at the asking price. Great lease rates and Financing also available on any of our inventory!
