Description of 1963 Studebaker Lark Daytona |
We have for sale a 1963 Studebaker Lark Daytona 2 Door hardtop Factory 289, AC, Power steering,Power disk brakes, 3.40 twin traction, power shift trans with buckets and floor shifter. Irmine white with red and white interior, vanity dash. I pulled the car out of a field in October 2017 where I believe it sat since 1977. Car had been run through/along a fence so I replaced both front fenders and the header panel and had them painted along with the hood in single stage white. The trunk lid was also replaced and repainted. Car has rust in the rockers, one small spot in the floor by the gas pedal, the passenger side floor/door jamb area, and one small spot in the trunk. The drivers quarter window is screwed shut, haven’t taken it apart to see why. The interior needs completely re done. I have a nice dash out of a Canadian car that is complete with gauges, vanity, etc that can be dyed, dye is included, and used as a nice replacement that will go with the car. The car is very complete, missing almost no trim. The car has a 259 in it now, runs strong with no issues, makes 70psi of oil pressure. I pulled it out, replaced gaskets through out and added an Edelbrock 500cfm carb. Trans and converter was supposedly rebuilt, it shifts strong but the front seal leaks a little bit. Brand new u joints were installed in the drive shaft. Dropped the tank, cleaned it out and installed a new sending unit. Brake lines were all flushed. The car has a GM window style distributor with an MSD 6a box and Blaster II coil to convert it to electronic ignition. New: Front turner disk brake setup Master cylinder and booster with Wilwood adjustable prop valve Carter electric fuel pump Rebuilt power steering pump, control valve, and ram done by Stanger Site All 4 power steering hoses Radiator, heater, and fuel hoses were replaced Gm 1 wire 100 amp alternator Spark plugs and wires Cap and rotor Optima battery and billet hold down Trans cooler mounted on frame American racing torque thrusts Bridgestone tires Full dual 2” exhaust with Raptor mufflers, sounds good but is not too loud Gabriel Shocks on all four corners Correct houndstooth trunk mat NOS Taillight lenses NOS Reverse lenses NOS front turn signal lenses NOS headlight bezels NOS hood ornament NOS trunk V8 emblem Car runs and drives well, needs a little bit more fine tuning but other wise the mechanicalsare all sound. I added an auxiliary blade style fuse panel triggered by a relay for any accessories like the MSD box, etc. fuel pump is wired with a relay also. Speedo doesn’t work, not sure if it’s the gauge or the cable but the extra dash has a nice speedo, the other gauge with the fuel level, oil pressure, water temp and amp gauge works great. The tail lights, brake lights, and head lights all work. I have a new turn signal switch that needs to be installed. Wipers will turn on, sometimes. There is a nice switch in the cluster in the extra dash. Has an ignition key and trunk key, the doors need to be keyed to the ignition. Comes with new leaf spring shackle bushings not installed. Clean title in my name. I have well over $10,000 invested in this car, my loss is your gain. The pic of the parts lots it’s miscellaneous trim and extra parts that go with the car. The last pic is of how the car was in the field, just over a year ago, just to show far the car has come. Offered with No Reserve. Please ask all questions before bidding. More pictures can be provided upon request. No refunds, returns, or exchanges. Sold AS IS with no warranties expressed or implied. It is also listed for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Please remember, if you bid on the Lark, you are entering a BINDING contract to buy it if you win the auction. Thanks for looking and good luck. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 24 hours of auction close.
