Description of 1965 Studebaker Cruiser

This 1965 Cruiser was Purchased in 1967, and finally driven into my friend’s garage in 1978, and was never driven since. He is now almost 90 years old. I bought it from him 2 years ago as a project for me and my grandson, who is apparently not interested, so I must move it on. It has not seen rain since 1978. Still has ‘78 license plates. Odometer shows 58,000 miles but I don’t know if that’s accurate.
Car has no apparent rust issues, trunk for example, is dry and clean. The car is complete as far as I can see.
The engine is stuck. I recently purchased a 1968 307 for it, which is directly interchangeable, bolt-for-bolt. This 307 appears to have been rebuilt. It’s painted blue, has brass freeze plugs, etc and turns freely. It has compression on all cylinders. (We turned it by hand on a stand and it shows compression on all cylinders). I will include this engine if the bids go over $1200. I also have purchased an Edelbrock “Streetmaster” 4-bbl. intake manifold which goes with the replacement engine. It is a vintage manifold, and is the proper fitment for this car.The transmission is a 3sp. column shift with Overdrive. The rear end is a 3.73 Positraction, according to the previous owner.
The interior is clean and dry. Door panels and rear seat are like new. Dash is very nice, has one tiny crack. The front seat upholstery is beginning to tear but the seat is firm and comfortable. Carpets are original but are beginning to pull away at the sides.
Overall, this is a nice Studebaker, and an easy fix, I believe. I think these are a very attractive style, and very fun to drive! These are a pretty fast little car!
