1969 Subaru 360 Deluxe Classic Micro Car-The Original Subaru Import Vehicle

Item Description- This is one of the original Subaru 360's which were imported into the USA. Subaru set up corporate operations in Delaware and began full sales operations in 1969. This particular car was sold by one of the first dealerships in Delaware and then traded back in with only 16,200 miles on it. The dealership then placed it on display in their showroom for many years. The current owner bought it from the family that operated the dealership. Once in my clients hands it received a full cosmetic restoration including removal of all doors, lassand fenders along with a bare metal repaint in base coat/clear coat of the original color. The only rust on the whole car was a spot approximately 4 inchesin diameteron the drivers side floor which was cut out and repaired with a welded filler patch. The engine and transmission were removed and detailed. After painting the car received a new windshield, eather stripping, hock absorbers, adial tires, nd a complete brake job including shoes, oses, heel cylinder, aster cylinder and DOT 5 brake Fluid. The motor received a full tune up and had the carburetor rebuilt. The motor is running synthetic oil. All electrics including horn and wipers work properly and the car is fitted with halogen head lamps. The original interior is in excellent condition. I had the pleasure of taking a ride on the back roads of the Shenandoah Valley and was surprised at how spirited the car is with its 3 speed manual transmission which is also equipped with a 4th speed" Over The Top" gear- which the shift knob acknowledges as "OT" not "OD" My client has only driven the car approximately 200 miles since completion of work several years ago. The car has 3 small blemishes in the paintthat I have tried to show in photographs which would be a straight forward spot repair if the new owner wanted to repair. A number of original ads and literature are included with the sale .. These cars are now deserving the recognition of their place in the history of Subaru and micro cars in general. With the exception of the several small paint blemishes -In my opinion- this Subaru Micro Car represents an investment gradeautomobile.
