The Cappuccino is a true lightweight and well equipped sports car that offers an incredibly unique and fun driving experience. It is a true driver’s car! It weighs in at approximately 1,500 lbs which allows it to be tossable in the corners but also sip fuel with achievements of 40+ miles per gallon. It comes equipped with a DOHC 3 cylinder turbocharged and intercooled engine, rear wheel drive, fully independent suspension, and disc brakes all around. The body is made up of multiple aluminum panels (ex: Hood, trunk, lower front fenders, convertible top). The convertible top allows various configurations (closed, t-top, targa, and convertible) and has a glass rear window with defrost. The transmission is a five speed manual. Air conditioning, leather, and power windows are present as well. The Cappuccino offers some of the most fun you can have for the money while also including the unique factor. It is an absolute blast to drive spiritedly on the twisty back roads but can also keep up with modern traffic on the freeway as well. Exterior Condition: This Cappuccino is in impressive condition for the age. Japan has a higher standard for allowing their vehicles to pass inspection and this Cappuccino shows such. One of the main issues on Cappuccinos and so many Japanese vehicles is rust. This Cappuccino is impressively solid! There is absolutely no evidence of rust repair and no rust issues. Areas like the rocker panels, in front of the rear wheels, behind the front wheels, wheel well lips, door jambs, and trunk jambs are beautifully solid. There are absolutely no rust bubbles on the exterior body. See the photos of the milgauge (a magnetic tool that measures paint thickness) which shows the panels are solid and without filler. The panels line up very nicely and do not show any evidence of accidents. Absent are any kind of significant dings. The finish on this Cappuccino is in excellent condition. It looks to have been professionally repainted recently. The paint is very glossy throughout. It lacks amatuer issues like overspray, orange peel, discoloration, zebra stripes in the metallic, and etc. The metallic flake, glossiness of the finish, and tint of the color matches on all of the panels. Having had a father that was an automotive painter for 40 years, and having restored a couple classic cars with him, I am very particular about a vehicle’s body work and finish. This Cappuccino’s body and finish really are impressive and extremely presentable. There is not much to note for wear on the finish. The front is nearly completely absent of chips as can be seen in the close up photos. There are just a few little nicks here and there but absolutely nothing that distracts from the presentation of the car. The rest of the exterior is in excellent condition. The headlights are in great shape and without cracks or hazing. The taillights and other lenses are in excellent shape and glossy. The glass throughout is excellent and without cracks or major stone impacts. The convertible top panels have a carbon fiber wrap currently on them and looks good. There are a couple minor dings in the convertible top panels which is tough to avoid with the thin aluminum. The passenger side mirror is missing a trim piece. The wheels are presentable and absent of significant issues. The engine bay is in nice shape as is the trunk. Present are the three original convertible top bags, spare, and tool kit. The panels all open, close, and function properly. To sum up, the exterior of this Cappuccino truly is impressive and extremely presentable. It is plenty nice to take to cars and coffee events and shows. Interior Condition: The interior of this Cappuccino is a nice place to be! There are no odd smells and no excessive wear. The most notable wear spot is the seam of the seat on the driver side could be repaired as it has separated. The passenger side is excellent. The seats are leather and are very comfortable. I am 5’11†160 lbs and fit very comfortably in the Cappuccino, even with the top on, with room to spare! The door panels are very good. The carpet is very good. The area behind the seats is good The front dash area is very good. The top dash has a fabric cover over it which looks good. I have not pulled it off to check under it. An aftermarket radio is present but is not powering up. The shift knob is a nice upgraded aluminum unit. There is a boost gauge mounted on the dash which works great. The steering wheel is a super nice leather wrapped Nardi steering wheel. Also present in the interior is an extremely nice roll bar. It is covered with a fabric that matches the paint color so it does not stand out very much but that fabric could be removed if one wanted to which would reveal its polished finish underneath. This is an actual roll bar, not just a cosmetic shiny bar like you see in many Miatas. The interior on this Cappuccino is plenty presentable and is a comfortable place to be. It is plenty comfortable to take out on the country roads for numerous hours. Driving Condition: This Cappuccino drives excellently! This is a get-in-and-go vehicle that starts every time and drives without issues. The engine shows all signs of being extremely healthy. It does not drip or leak anything. There are no puffs of smoke or oil burning. It runs at a proper temperature no matter the weather. It starts easily whether hot or cold. The turbocharger spools up real quick and offers some great additional torque. It sounds excellent too! The timing belt looks to have been changed about 18,000 miles ago so it should be good for some time. A new timing belt and tensioner is included though. The exhaust is in great shape, looks nice, and is overall quite quiet. The car overall is very quiet. In the videos it may sound louder but that is because the external microphone for some footage is mounted right by the exhaust and for other footage next to the intake in the engine bay. The transmission shifts excellently without any issue. There is no grinding, popping out of gear, or other issues. The rest of the drivetrain is great. The brakes are excellent. The Cappuccino stops extremely well and it is nice to have all wheel disc brakes. The suspension feels great. It is not abusive but not Buick soft either. It feels sporty but yet is very comfortable for driving for numerous hours. The steering is great with no odd rattles or clunks. The tires are new last year with only a couple thousand miles on them. The odometer works and shows about 133,000 kilometers which is about 82,000 miles. Condition and driving wise, the car looks and feels like even less miles. Summary: The driving experience of the Cappuccino is very unique and difficult to compare. The Cappuccino is kind of like a modern and well appointed Lotus 7 or Bugeye Sprite due to its lightness and pure driving enjoyment. This is a sports car that begs to be taken on the back roads with the top down. Go longer and further due to the comfort and not having to worry about fuel costs due to the high miles per gallon! This is the type of car that you can throw around and drive at its limits without breaking speed laws. The extra thrust from the turbo is a welcomed addition when doing stop and go driving. This honestly is one of the most fun sports cars I have owned! This is my 2nd right hand drive car. The right hand driving and left handed shifting takes only a few times to get used to then becomes 2nd nature.
