Description of 1994 Toyota Other

This is a 1994 Toyota 4WD pickup Xtra Cab. In 2007 it was converted to turbodiesel and automatic transmission by Todd Herman at Diesel Toys in San Antonio Texas. I brought it to Vermont in 2007 and converted it to run on either diesel or vegetable oil. Last year I removed the vegoil conversion hardware.
Body: It is in decent condition for a 1994. I sprayed the underbody with LPS3 Hardcoat as soon as I got it up here, hich has done its job. There is some rust along the bottoms of the doors, hich you can see in the photos. There is a dent in the rear bumper and on the driver's side rear corner, lso visible in the photos. The front bumper has a mist of rust, think from being naturally sandblasted down in Texas. The passenger side got doinked behind the door a few years back and I got that section replaced with a steel part. It has a plastic bed liner. I have installed low-profile Unistrut on either side rail of the bed so you can bolt things to it.
Drive Train: The drive train has lots of good points and one bad point. The 1KZ-TE 3L engine is a torque monster. It gets about 25-30 mpg all around. The automatic transmission is electronically controlled and has a "Power" button that makes the gears lower for more pulling power. It has an electronic overdrive and 4 wheel drive with a lever for high and low range. The hubs are manual and you have to stop the vehicle to put it in 4WD. It comes out of 4WD on the move. The turbocharger gives a nice boost on acceleration.
The bad point deserves its own paragraph. The truck starts and runs fine, ut once it warms up it eventually has a fault. The engine light comes on and the timing seems to go slightly off. I identified this as an Error 14, iming Control Valve. I checked the TCV and it works. I sent the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) off to a specialist and it checked out fine. The wiring seems fine. It could be an air leak in the fuel system somewhere, ut I can't find it. It could be that the injector pump has a semi-clog in it somewhere. It could just be that the injector pump is getting tired and needs a rebuild. I have no idea and don't have time to fiddle with it anymore.
Interior: Not bad for a 1994. There's a worn spot on the drivers seat. The interior carpeting is okay. It has a radio and CD player with an anti-theft removable front.
Extras: I have bought things for this over the years.
Two sets of tires, ne set summer, ne set studded snows, ll on rims.
A cargo rack, s you can see in the photos.
A canvas tonneau cover with a support frame. It is cab height just behind the cab and tapers down to the tailgate. Needs a new vinyl window.
A rebuilt set of four injectors.
The original turbocharger. I thought it was defective, ut it turns out it wasn't. There's an aftermarket turbo in it right now.
An OEM Toyota oil filter
A fuel filter
For someone who is willing to do a some tweaking on the fuel system and a bit of rust control on the doors, his could be a fun vehicle. It is so much better on the highway than one with an original 22R gas engine. A real stump puller in low range.
