Description of 1979 Toyota Corolla Sport Coupe |
1979 Toyota Corolla Sport Deluxe Coupe Survivor Extremely Original and Stock Showing 37. 47 miles. believed actual Mostly Original Paint RE-LISTING A 3rd TIME DO TO NON-PAYING BIDDER DO NOT BID IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE MEANS TO COMPLETE THE TRANSACTION! When a friend of mine called me and said that he had a line on a 1979 Corolla. I laughed. I’m into vintage. hot rod European cars. not Japanese econo-boxes. He said that he knew me well and that I wouldn’t believe my eyes. I needed to come and see it. He did know me well. I was smitten. I guess I’m a sucker for anything that’s super clean and original. Long story short. I bought the car. fixed a few minor things and have enjoyed for a while. It’s now time for someone else to enjoy this almost perfectly preserved little car. While the Corolla was in my care I did a tune up and oil change. The car already had a newer muffler and cat. as well as fresh tires. There was a dent in the driver’s side door. right were the fender and door came together. I had a body shop fix the dent and to get the color to match properly. they blended through most of the driver’s side. The rest of the paint is original and save for some very light wear and tear. and a scratch on the trunk lid. is in excellent condition. The car runs great. leaks no fluids. shifts perfectly and is a joy to drive. The steering wheel is centered. alignment is good and the brakes are excellent. There are no major rattles or squeaks and overall the car is very tight. There are a few very minor things that I have noticed with the car. The plastic cover for the A pillar on the drivers side is cracked. You can see it in the pictures. There is a small amount of surface rust above and below the left tail light. It has not rusted through and has been touched up so that it does not continue. The factory ignition switch does not start the car when turned to the start position. There has been a button under the dash installed for starting. Other than that everything is in very good condition. All the lights work. wipers. horn. blower for the heater. all the things that don’t normally work on a car of this vintage are in working order. I haven’t seen a car of this vintage as nice as this in years. People actually stop me when I’m driving around to ask about it. I swear that more people notice this car than a late model sports car. I went to great lengths to show this most excellent example of a 1979 Corolla through more than 150 photos. Please look through all of them. There are pictures of pretty much every part of the car including the underside. Inspections are welcome PRIOR to the end of auction. Please email or call with any and all questions. 503-475-8078 Josh |
