1981 toyota landcruiser fj45 troop carrier troopy. VIN# fj45306551I purchased this truck off ebay from a guy on the west coast who imported from Australia and probably decided it was too much work and sold it to me. I got more than I bargained for, ut luckily I am a welder. So we tore the whole thing down to bare metal and welded in alot of good metal. simultaneously we got rid of some factory problem areas where water and dirt could get into boxed in areas like the rear sill. So hopefully the rear quarters and a few other spots will not rot out in its next 25 years of life life like it did the first 25.All this work was done in 2009, 2,000 miles ago.I will try to remember it all.New 17" teflon mojave aluminum wheels and tires including matching spare wheel. Stainless dual exhaust. Ceramic headers, allory ignition, ew edelbrock 4barrel carb. Edelbrock performer intake and cam. Painless wiring harness. converted turn/tail lights to off the shelf semi truck style. brand new nv4500 5spd tranny. 351 windsor v8 that had 60k miles. new gm alternator. new water pump. New brake cylinders. hood from new mexico with zero rust ever. fenders from new mexico with repairs by other on rust over the fender bracket in typical spot. This spot has rust bubbles now unfortunately and will need to be fixed properly in the future. new custom aluminum bumper. High power power inverter under center console with full size battery cables run to it. I powered my fridge and a few lights and tv off this during hurricane recovery once. towing package including brake control to take advantage of this powerful one tons potential. bedline grey interior floor and bedline blue steps on outside. The blue is a factory fj40 color. Paint is good, ut my logos are paint and not decals. Also there are three spots of rust bubbles. One on each fender and a tiny one on rear door. Not bad for 6 years of south florida. When it comes to rust on an fj, ost of you know, hey were designed to rot. I have hundreds of pics of the refurbishment of this truck. Any unrestored or poorly restored truck will have lots of rust or bondo covered rot. This truck is done and ready to repaint any color or same color to cover logos and fix the very little rust. New headliner. New rear bench seats as of a week ago. Also have modified dodge caravan third row seat with built in child restraint. New windshield. New rubber around windsheild, lass in doors front and rear. Stainless hardware on all exterior body. New stereo, auges, peakers and interior lights. Custom aluminum interior door panels that screw in(no more crappy clips). This truck is very reliable and will probably go faster than 100mph. it cruises on the highway at 65 or 80 and the rpms are nice and low. First gear is not too low or high, t drives very nice for an old truck that was slow and clumsy from the factory. It has enough power to make it fun to drive as it definitely has much more power than it needs! The frame is solid and never rotten. The truck is for sale as you see it minus the wheels. It will come with a set of 2004 tacoma alloy wheels and usable tires. If you want these wheels they are available for $1,000.00. I am doing this to help bring the price down. More than happy to sell the wheels with it, r keep them for another truck if it helps someone afford this one.I know there are many horror stories about people buying trucks on ebay and being disappointed. This truck will impress. Saying this, would be more comfortable with a buyer paying and final inspecting in person. I have nothing to hide and want a good honest sale. I love this truck and it has been part of my family. I would drive it to alaska and not expect to have any issues. Clear NC title in my name. Call Me, ric eight two eight 98nine six651 with any questions. If anyone calls for any other reason like to help me sell it, r scam me, will hang up. I will pick you up at Asheville airport if needed and let you inspect the truck. If you dont like it, ou dont have to buy it. I stand behind it 100%!Thanks
