It's time to get rid of one of my babies so here is all the info and work I did to it for the few years I've owned it. Some parts are newer than others. It is a1994 Toyota Pickup...5spd trans with a 22RE engine...The 22RE engine iswell known as a bulletproof engine by many. It has never had the check engine light on since I've owned it and it has always been reliable to me. I have changed these partsin the time I have owned it..... Complete new front timing cover including Newtiming chain/tensioner/heavy duty (steel backed) timing chain guides (the OEM ones are plastic which are known to breakand fall into the oil pan) New oil pump and water pump when I did the timing chain..I got the complete kit from engbldr.com so it was quality parts, not chinese junk. I alsoremoved the oil pan to clean the inside and reseal it, I started running Rotella synthetic oil (high in zinc and phosphorus, good for bearings) ever since I did that, within first month of ownership. Flushed the cooling system and put in new coolant New valve cover gaskets New belts (all 3) New Starter New thermostat New radiator and coolant again(one of the newer items) New Front And Rear Bilstein shocks New fuel filter(I have changed it for every year that I have driven it) New MSD spark plug wires New cap and rotor - Japanese made
New K&N air filter New spark plugs New clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder New tailgate external latch assembly New headlight bulbs (the best ones advance auto sells) New Goodyear wipers Changed the engine, trans and rear diff oil to Shell synthetic oil New D/s front brake caliper New Sears battery with higher cold cranking amps than factory (one of thenewer items) brake caliper New clutch fork pivot stud and throw out bearing retainer Most recent parts are - The alternator, radiator, clutch fork stud and tob retainer clip, new transmission oil Also just recharged/cleaned/oiled the k&n air filter.... It has an aftermarket radio/cd player with AUX input so you can play music from your phone/ipod etc
Sometimes there is a whine from the speakers but doesn't last long if it does happen. I'm sure there is more upgrades but this is all I can think of off the top of my head.. The previous owner before me owned it for a year, he put in a Centerforce clutch, I havea picshowing the clutch to verify it is an aftermarketCenterforce clutch (orange color with the square weights on the front pressure plate fingers). He also lowered it with blocks under the leaf springs which would be easy to remove if you wanted it taller height. Even with a quad in the backI never had any clearance issues. The bed is also big enough so the tailgate can be closed withmy quad in the back. This truck has COLD and fully working A/C which blows 40 degrees (R12 refrigerantIbelieve) It has clear aftermarket headlight, aftermarket foglights which both work but need to be wired up and alsoa radio fm signal booster for better radio reception. In the rear there isa trailer hitch and dual trailer sockets, the flat 4 pin plug and the other version. Also has a mini tach on the dash. I would normally wash the engine bay once a month when I was driving itdailyto get the buildup of dust and crap out and then spray everything with an anti-corrosion spray. It also has a Grant wooden steering wheel and shift knob, I have also gotten many compliments on that "Wow that steering wheel looks like it belongs in a Jaguar" ..Theengine has never let me down and has plenty of low end grunt. The interior is also in pretty good condition for its age also, no cracks in dash either like many trucks this age has. It has operational pull-out cup holders which are right in front of the Ac vents which is nice and helps keep your drink hot or cold. Aftermarket radio/cd player head unit It has two small subs or speakers behind the seat along with an amp There are also two aftermarket speakers in the front along with a crossover (I have pics in my phone somewhere to show them, they're German made too) Occasionally 4th gear would sometimes pop out but was never an issue for me. There is an exhaust leak where the pipe goes into the muffler inlet, it broke at the welds so it can probably just be rewelded at a muffler shop for acouple bucks Many of these year trucks had frames rusting out which was a factory recall but this one is not one of those with heavily rusted frames. I used to drive this 110 miles everyday for work so most of my miles were highway milesand have gotten 23+ MPG on the highway depending what gas was used. I no longer use the truck so it's time to sell it. Located in Toms River, NJ This would be a great truck for a younger kid too. I can put up more pics of the inside/outside/engine if someone is interested. Not sure why ebay uploaded some of the pics upside down or sideways, I will try and fix it in the meantime.
