Description of 1989 Toyota Tacoma SR5

1989 Toyota Tacoma, XtraCab SR5, 4x4, 3.0 liter V-6, Manual 5 Speed, Loaded CALIFORNIA Truck 96,930 Miles – the Nicest one you have ever seen that wasn’t sitting on the showroom floor. Has all the options offered at the time, 4X4, PS, PB, A/C, AM/FM/Cassette (Changed out – but included), 5 Speed manual, and a Sun Roof (with shade), SR5 Package, Factory Bedliner. Adult owned and Garaged all it’s life…

OK, to be Technically Correct, it is NOT a TACOMA, it is a 1989 Toyota Truck Gen 6. Tacoma’s didn’t come around until 1995. Most of you reading this already know that !

Motor Trend’s 1989 Truck of the Year Award Winner !

100% stock with only aftermarket products to include: NERF BARS / ROCK SLIDERS, Mirage Alarm / Power door locks /Ignition cut out (it will not start when the alarm has been activated), Pioneer Radio AM / FM / CD (I will include the factory AM / FM / Cassette ) and I installed Pioneer Speakers (in Dash) to replace the factory ones and a set of Pioneer “Box” speakers in the rear since I didn’t want to make any mods or hack up the truck.

I am the 3rd owner, I bought it about a year ago for my 60th birthday present, I always wanted one of these.

Dr. X – the first owner from California bought it new and keep ALL receipts – including gas fill ups – I went through them and took notes and threw the minor ones away, like the Gas Fill up and oil changes (every 3,000 miles)… He was meticulous about his record keeping and it shows. He sold to Owner #2, his intern in February of 2012 with 93,772 miles on it after he no longer was driving it for almost 2 years.

Owner #2 – also from California – Put 1,742 miles on it in the 4 years and 3 months that he owned it. He also keep very good records of Maintenance and babied this truck also. ***Someone stole the Tires and Rims off of it when he had it sitting in his driveway with a for sale sign on it.***

Me – Owner 3 – I have not driven it in the rain or snow, it is a TOY or a SHOW TRUCK for me. Don’t buy this if you don’t like strangers coming up to you at the gas pump and wanting to talk Toyota Trucks and receive compliments on how nice it is !!!

New Tires – BFG All Terrain TA’s, a Pioneer AM/FM/CD and 4 speakers, and a new Die Hard Battery.

It comes with the Plain Stock Rims included – that Owner 2 put on it when the Original Deluxe Rims and tires were stolen off of it. He included a set (5) of the Deluxe Rims that he bought at a Salvage Yard. They are not quite as nice as the rest of the truck, but you can’t tell at 5+ feet away. I cleaned them up and put new BFG All Terrain TA’s on them (31X10.50X15). 2 sets of Rims included – the Deluxe that are on it and Plain Stock Aluminum with no tires mounted. It also comes with the Stock Radio if you want to put it back to Showroom Stock condition. No Modifications have been made to this truck, and only Stock Toyota Parts have been used in the Maintenance.

The Bad – there are 2 small marks / gouges in the rear Bumper where it looks like someone missed coupling up a trailer. And the Power Mirrors do not work – I haven’t looked into this yet, since I just set them manually and they have stayed put. Other than that it looks like it’s still sitting on the showroom floor – AWESOME for a 28 year old Truck !!!

The first Picture – side view of the truck sitting in my Driveway ishow it currently looks and sits, the rest are from the 2nd owner when I bought it – Notice the miss matched rims and highway tires, and a Water Heater in the back. *** Except the last 5 - which are things I added, and the slight damage to the rear bumper - the only imperfection !!! ***

Selling due to downsizing for retirement, The wife and I have 5 vehicles, this truck is too nice to use as a truck, so I will keep my other one..

I ran the Autocheck report, and everything comes back clean – no accidents ever – and everything is verified just as I have stated.

For Sale as is - Where is: I can help get it loaded for shipping but the buyer is responsible for shipping $$$.
