BTB Frame-Off Restored FJ40 with less than 10000 Miles on it. See over 200 pictures here: http://s575.photobucket.com/albums/ss193/dhavis69/ Unfortunately the time has come for me to give up “The Beast”. I have two kids now and enjoyed the ride for right at 10 years now and I think it’s time someone else had the opportunity to own this fine FJ40. This FJ drives like a dream and sounds even better, she is rock solid andthe V8 is music to your ears. I cruise her down the highway at about 70mph with one finger on the steering wheel. The only issue is the Tachometer works intermittently and the oil gauge has recently decided to not work. Both minor fixes. Other than that there are no mechanical issues with this vehicle. This always garaged Cruiser was built by the Land Cruiser specialists at BTB Products. If you don’t know who they are, here is a link: http://www.btbprod.com/ BTB Product's custom built FJ40s have sold for well over $100k and this is your opportunity to own a vehicle built by mechanical engineers & Land Cruiser enthusiasts for a fraction of what they are charging. This smog exempt, "Show" quality, rust free, 100% better than restoredvehicle is ready for the trail, the highway or the car show. Almost every part, nut, bolt, bearing & gasket has been replaced or the old ones have been painstakingly cleaned, sandblasted, painted or powder-coated. I am confident this is one of the nicest Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40’s available - You can EAT off the powder coated frame rails and the paint is a beautiful mirror finish. You’ll notice my reflection in some of the pictures; it is an amazing paint job. Here are the particulars: ROLLING CHASSIS: - Frame—This Cruiser has been built from the ground up. The frame was stripped all the way down, sandblasted, polished to perfection, and powder coated black.
- Motor— The frame was set up with a 345 HP ZZ4 350 Small Block Chevrolet motor that has over 400 Ft Pounds of Torque. It comes with aluminum heads & Centerforce clutch and an aluminum radiator to keep her cool. I had an RV Cam put in and the flat top pistons replaced with rounded versioins so it can run Regular Fuel. A new Edelbrock 650 Offroad carburetor fuels the Cruiser with a large Edelbrock air cleaner. The cruiser had a 16 gallon gas tank up front, fuel lines and hoses were replaced. A 22 Gallon Confer rear gas tank has also been installed and are accessed with an electric crossover switch. Both fuel doors (Front & rear) come equipped with built in locks. With the front and rear tanks filled to capacity you have 38 gallons of fuel.
- Transmission—Attached is a rebuilt military issue CondeiselSM420 transmission (itis a rebranded Muncy SM420 that was produced by the military until the late 70's)with a Ranger Gear Splitter27%Overdrive unit, http://www.high-impact.net/transmission_and_gear/rangeroverdrive.htm, and Toyota Land Cruiser transfer case. Advance Adaptors bell housing andall leather Momo shifter knobs. With the Overdrive unit it gives the avid offroader the ability to shift up 27% from any gear, essentially eight forward gears. I use it for 5th gear on the highway and cruise at 70mph all day with loads of power to spare.
- Custom made front motor mounts, scab plates, front steering correction kit, power steering plate and the rear truss were welded into place.
- Springs and Lift—Custom made spring mounts and reinforced gussets were added for strength. Rancho Springs and a power steering box were bolted in. 1 1/2" high 2" round black powder coated aluminum body mount block were used to lift the cruiser, 12 blocks total. In the rear of the truck a custom 1 1/2" x 2" rail was installed to eliminate the gap between the body and frame. The rail and blocks were made of 6061 aluminum and powder coated high gloss black. They were mated with a body mount kit using polyurethane pads.

- Axles—The front and rear axles were completely rebuilt

- Tires & Wheels— 35x12.50x15 Goodyear Silent Armor tires are attached to 15x10 Centerline HTs. A full size spare is attached to a reinforced custom built rear tire carrier. These tires were selected because they come with the Goodyear MTR sidewallwith a nice all terrain tread pattern. They performvery well andare quiet on the pavement.

- Radiator— BTB’s custom aluminum radiator for a V8 in an FJ40 is installed with the BTB custom fan shroud.
- Body—Includes a factory fold down tail gate with new latches and chains. The tub was sandblasted and reinforced, thenthe body was prepared and prepped for painting. Then an Indian Red Custom paint job was provided by award winning body shop Michael J's of The Alamaden & Curtis Custom Classics ofSan Jose. Attention to detail was paramount so all pieces ( Tub, Hood, front Bib, New Fenders, front Aprons, late model FJ40 Windshield frame, Windshield motor cover) were all individually painted. To protect against the elements and rust, the body, including transmission hump pan, was then thoroughly professionally Rhino-Lined inside and underneath. Stainless steel hardware was used to bolt the body into place. BTB powder coated Side Protection, mud flaps and Bushwacker Fender Flares were then installed.
- The hood was setup with rubber pads, hood hinges, and windshield frame stops using stainless steel hardware.

NOTE* The seat belt mounts on the center bars and the head room clearance for the rear jump seats. The roll cage assembly is installed with 8 grade hardware. Custom built 2x 1/2" speaker housing was built into the front left and right bars of the cage prior to powder coating. To ensure that the tub and cage stay together in the event of a roll-over, special bottom plates were fabricated and installed for added security. Two fire extinguishers attach to fire extinguisher brackets bolted to rollcage.
