This is my 1979 Toyota Land Cruiser fj40 . To start off, it has the original motor that runs very well, great oil pressure, no smoke, knocking or ticking. Believed to have around 100K on the motor. Numbers matching, upgrades on the motor includes MSD distributor and wires as well as a Webber carburator. A new heavy duty alternator with rebuilt starter, battery and Fuel tank was installed. The truck has been retrofitted with an after market A/C system. Blows ice cold and still allows for the factory heater to works as intended. We also installed power steering using original parts and all the tie rods have been replaced, as well as the steering chock absorber replaced with "old man emu heavy duty - and steering is tight and precise. The transmission and transfer case shifts great through every gear with no grinds or pop outs. We just replaced the clutch 15 miles ago with a high quality OEM replacement. All fluids serviced in the entire drive train, as well as inspected for ware and tare and all passed with flying colors. The axels are also originals and in excellent shape and they come factory with 3.73 gear ratio. The front locking hubs are working perfectly. No leaks in the drive train. The breaks were inspected top to bottom with replacement of front discs and pads. The rear breaks have been converted to disc breaks with an upgrade of drilled and slotted rotors. The truck was always rustic green, it was purchased with original paint. All body work was completed with metal, not fiber glass. Very minor work was actually needed. We did two coats of primer, one coat of sealant, two coats of paint and another two coats of clear. Then it was wet sanded and buffed to a beautiful shine.Now, for the interior; We had the original front seats with head rests re-upholstered and rear seats re-upholstered as well with vintage material to match the vehicle. The front dash was in excellent original shape so we left it and replaced the door panels as well as interior door handles. The truck was converted to soft top with original parts. The soft top bows and hardware are original and very rare, and the soft top is a brand new, 7 window black waterproof material, that rolls up on the sides and the back for convenience. Original Tailgate was installed and modified for original place bracket to be installed on the other side. The front seat belts have been replaced with brand new "Cool Cruiser" system and the rear seat belts are originals and in good shape. A new cd player has been installed for your enjoyment.The front head lights were replaced with upgraded LED version. Two LED spotlights were added by the windshield hinges and custom brackets were made for the LED light bar. (this can be removed, and We still have original headlights that can be included if desired). New rear reflectors and lens covers. High quality RAB lift springs and upgraded extended chock absorbers were added to suspension to make the ride comfortable. Also upgraded heavy duty RAB triangulated lift shackles. Stocks are available if requested. We also installed a front winch bumper from CCOT. The vintage winch on this truck is a fully operational Warn model 8724. 8000 lb rating with brand new remote.The truck was rewired in the cabin and engine compartment and all lights, switches and nobs are fully operational. Includes original FJ 40 split style 16" rims on all , basically new, general HCT tires.The vehicle runs so well that it can easily be an every day ride with no worries of over heating or breaking down .
