Description of 1989 Toyota Land Cruiser |
Preface- I have bought numerous vehiclesfrom afar so I understand what it is like to buy sight unseen. Bid with confidence.I have been as honest as possible about this ad.However, there may be things I have missed, so feel free to ask questions if there is something not addressed. Summary I am reluctantly am selling one of my personal vehicles, a very rust free, 1989 Land Cruiser that has maintenance records dating to 2000. I planned on keeping this for quite awhile, but driving 50 miles/day and the office moving further away, I purchased a more commuter friendly vehicle, hence the sale. This is an excellent, all original (sans tranny) cruiser that has lived all its life in Austin, Texas, there is no rust on this beauty. This has been my semi-DD for about 5 months and after a month, I put in a brand newToyotaH55 tranny in, it’s absolutely wonderful if you are considering this option. I can easily go 70 MPH with the 4.10s. Feel free to ‘fly n drive’. Highlights
Paint- I don’t really consider this an issue as I like Patina but some may not share the same sentiment. The clear coat on the hood and roof is removed. The sides show wonderfully. Unless you are 6’6” or higher, the only thing you will notice is the hood. What you see is an all original exterior with zero body work and zero rust. I purposely chose not to paint because of this. All vehicles in Texas, Arizona and California suffer from clear-coat issues. But we do not have any rust. I personally will take this every day of the week and twice on Sunday :) If this bothers you, I can put you in touch with a local paint shop I have used with great success, post-sale, they do a great job. Guessing it would be about $1500. This is not a $500 maaco job but not a $8k job. It would be good for all but the pickiest. Or get the hood done for $3-400 since that is what most people will see. However, I would strongly advise to leave as-is, all original is better IMO. Known issues - Preface, I am kinda nit-picky, so these are really not issues but I believe in full disclosure. As we all know, all vehicles, especially older ones like these, have “personalities”
