Description of 1984 Toyota Land Cruiser BJ60 |
. 1984 Toyota Land Cruiser model BJ60 *DIESEL* with *FACTORY AIR CONDITIONING* in great mechanical shape and fair physical shape. I bought this a fewmonths ago to restore but due to recent life changes I just don't have the time or resources. 177K miles (odometer is in kilometers at 285700, see photo).3B naturally aspirated (non-turbo) diesel engine, 5 Speed manual transmission, roof rack, brush bar with Warn winch, original tools and jack, original and after-market manuals, even comes with the original Toyota 12v under-the-hood work light. This is the G sub-model with the "cold-weather" option: two batteries (parallel, so it's still a 12v system) and 4 (count 'em, 4!) engine block heaters. This is a Canadian vehicle which was legally imported into the US in 2005. I have copies of the import papers. The guy who imported it was a mechanical engineer who used it as his daily driver and kept it in his garage in Portland, OR. This is why the top half of the body and the interior are in such good shape. There is absolutely no rust around the rain gutters or roof rack. Unfortunately theOregonwinters created rust on the rear bottom tailgate, real wheel wells, the inside and outside front door corners, front edge of hood, and portions of the frame (see photos, it's all there). THE GOOD - Diesel engine is in excellent shape. Previous owners replaced injector pump, glow plugs, and some miscellaneous stuff. I have all receipts. Engine starts well, runs well, doesn't smoke when starting. There is some smoke when shifting which I think is just unburned fuel. - 5 speed manual transmission, shifts tight and smooth. - Air conditioning. This is a hard-to-find extra, especially from Canada. Needs recharging but still blows cool. - 5000 lb. Warn electric winch and brush bar. Winch includes original controller and works great. - Roof rack. - Top of the body is in amazing shape, especially the top rain gutter where these usually get rusted out. - New leafs (leaves?) with an extra add-a-leaf for towing. - Hitch and receiver. - Privacy tinted rear windows. - Glass is in fine shape, no cracks, two little chips, windows roll up and down but need lubing. - Excellent interior for its age. There are small cracks in the speaker area, but the rest of the dash is excellent. The seats are original and in good shape except for the usual breakdown on the driver seat edge. Original carpet is in amazing shape all around. - Original tools and manuals, and an after-market repair manual. THE BAD - Rust on rear wheel wells, lower tailgate, and bottom front door edges. Small spots of rust forming on upper tailgate window seals, side window seals, front edge of hood, and a few other spots. Next owner needs to go over every small rust spot, clean it and treat it with rust protector before it gets away from you. - Rust on frame,although90% of the frame is in good shape. The frame was originally undercoated but that wore off some time back and there are a few spots that are delaminating (see photos). - Front axel seals need replacing. - Transfer case seals need replacing. - Radiator has a few pinhole leaks that need to be soldered. - Tear on driver's seat. - Small scrape on R side, dent in R rear lower wheel well, bumper rubber end and mud flap knocked off from what previous owner called a "garage door scrape." If you install wheel well kits they will replace that entire dented area. - A few other small dings and dents. - Fuel gauge doesn't work.- Aftermarket radio. THE LAZY. Clean title in previous owner's name and bill of sale in my name in hand, but I haven't registered it yet. OR reg is good till 9/18. Previous owner has agreed to create a new bill of sale for the new owner, which will save me $1100 CA reg fee. Because of this, I'll split the NEW reg fee with NEW owner as an incentive. (If you're not comfortable with that I'll just go ahead and register it here at time of sale, but I suggest we don't pay double taxes and fees.) WARRANTY, PAYMENT, SHIPPING, etc.- No warranty, sold-as-is.- $500 non-refundable deposit due within 24 hours of end of auction.- Final payment via wire transfer, cashier's check, cash in person, or personal check ONLY. Funds must clear before vehicle is released.- Shipping charges are buyer's responsibility.- Vehicle is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end an auction early.
