Description of 1991 Toyota Land Cruiser |
'91 Land Cruiser with only 91K miles up for auction! I bought this from the second owner who owned it since '97. Family owned, the woman drove this as a grocery getter locally. I have done much work since she parked it since 2014. It runs fantastic with the bullet proof 3FE straight six. No timing belt or chain to replace and reliable Toyota fuel injection cant be beat. AWD system works as it should with center diff lock. Tires are like new. BFG Long Trails. I have replaced all four corners of brakes and packed wheel bearings. I replaced ALL the brake lines from the front to back minus lines coming from master down to the frame. I did it correctly with one piece lines bent and coupled with double flares. NO COMPRESSION FITTINGS. I replaced the sending unit/ fuel pump, fuel filter and flushed the tank. It has a new NAPA Gold battery. Both head pipes/ Catalytic converters, hangars and O2 sensors are new. Both exterior mirrors replaced with new. I replaced the crusty front bumper with a custom winch bumper from Northwest Trail Industries and painted it body color, Medium Grey Metallic. I will leave winch choice up to buyer. All lights, radio, locks, etc. work as they should. Here's the kicker: I bought a '92 parts truck identical, color and all, to this one and stripped it completely. I have extra doors, fenders, hood, 2nd and 3rd row seats. Most interior trim pieces, gauge cluster, all modules, computer, relays. Intake manifold complete, Headlights, taillights, fender flares, interior plastic pieces, rear underseat heater. A lot of stuff. All boxed up. Console, shifter trim, jack, tools, etc. Body panels are in my shed. It had a bad drivetrain and was rear ended. Some things like front seats and door panels were gone by the time I bought it. I have the front axle and all the rims/ tires. There is a 2" receiver hitch and a bunch of stuff I probably forgot. It all goes with this truck. Buyer must take everything. There are a few items which I haven't finished repairing and a couple blems which I must mention. The left rear window motor is inop. I am hoping to switch out the motor from the parts truck door and have it working by time of sale. The rear gate has a dime sized rust spot which is pictured. The right rear rocker corner has rust. Other than that, the body is rust free. The chassis has some crust from sitting in her driveway. Hence, the brake line issues. They are all replaced correctly. I spend a week doing them right. All the brakes were done right. I had two sets of calipers and drums to use. They were cut and I went through the calipers. This is a pre-ABS truck. I have not finished rebuilding the parking brake assy. The arms are free on the drums and lubed. There is a pulley which needs attention. I might have it done by time of sale. The parking brake handle is sun baked, but the parts truck unit is mint. I will have the rear shackle mounted to the bumper this week. Bolts were too short. The clear has peeled off the hood, and half the roof. It sat in a driveway with southern exposure for three years. She drove the brakes to the shims and the exhaust was bad. She bought a new car but couldn't part with it since she had it 20 years. All in all, this is a really great truck which isnt even broken in at 91K. It runs awesome. I started it after a months rest when it was 0 degrees out and it fired right up and purred. I have been driving it a little and I have found no issues. It goes straight and stops mint. AWD works as it should in the snow. I really like this rig, but I need to recoop my cash and move on. It was a labor of love to get this old girl back on the road. If it had 300K, I wouldn't have gone this far. It really is just a winch, lift and paint job away from being super, super cool. This truck does not disappoint. I have not seen one under 100K miles with a super nice, non molested interior and body. This is totally stock minus bumper. I can get it together to ship if necessary. I accept cash in person or direct wire. No cashiers checks, I have been burned with fakes. I reserve the right to end auction early. Clear title in my name. |
