Description of 1994 Toyota Pickup Hilux |
I've owned this truck since 2002, I believe I am the second owner. I mostly used it for various home improvement/landscaping projects for my own homes over the last 15 years. 4 Wheel Drive, 5 Speed Manual Transmission. Manual Hubs operate by hand. Engine is still strong, and starts instantly, doesn't burn oil or smoke. I always used full synthetic since I've owned it. The cab was repainted in 2014, its not the greatest paint job, but serviceable. The tailgate was replaced due to rust in the original, its not a perfect color match. The rear bumper was replaced about 10 years ago, and now has signs of rust again. The frame is solid but there is some rust in the floor of the bed, under the bed liner which is hard to remove due to the tonneau frame clamps. There is no tonneau any more. Wheel wells are in good shape. Rims are stock steel and have some rusty spots. This is a solid but 24 year old truck that has been well maintained, but its still a 24 year old truck. One issue its has now it a short that causes the rear running light/ dash light fuse to blow. I'm trying to locate the issue but so far haven't succeeded. Also, the speedometer works intermittently, although the odometer turns continuously while driving. This is also a mystery I haven't solved yet. Its in pretty good cosmetic shape, I've tried to show the few spots that have issues, I will try to get some interior pics up in the next day or so. Some recent repairs: New BF Goodrich tires were put on at 180,000 miles. They have less than 1300 miles on them.New front bumper and valanceNew KYB Gas shocks about 2 years oldNew front brake pads and one new caliper this October.New front rotors at 164,000New exhaust from manifold back in 2010, including new cat. converterNew O/E clutch, master and slave at 158,000 miles The truck iscurrently located in the Riverdale section of the Bronx, 15 minutes from George Washington, Tappan Zee, Whitestone, Throgs Neck, and Tri- Boroughbrides. I'm one minute from the Henry Hudson Parkway, if you want to take it for a spin on the highway, its a few blocks away. |
