Description of 1970 Toyota FJ Cruiser

1970 FJ 40. Southern Vehicle, Clear North Carolina title.
I got it 3 1/2 years ago, parked it in my garage with the intent of restoring. I never got around to it!
it has not been started and has sit inside my garage for the last 3 1/2 years. We have not attempted to start it since we parked it.

  • Over axle Pro-Comp lift kit
  • Original dashboard and all parts, nothing appears to be OEM
  • Floor boards in great condition
  • Front seats and 2 back seats appear to also be original
  • I have original glass for entire vehicle, some just needs to be put back in (back curve glass included)
  • Heater not installed but I have the original one and included in this price
  • 5 BFGoodrich Mud Terrain Tires and 5 mag wheels. Take a look at the tread, in excellent shape!
  • Frame, suspension and axles look good
  • Back seat is two bench seats facing each other, original layout.

Someone did a V8automatic conversion on it. I am not a mechanic but feel like it needs work on motor and transmission (want new owner to be safe). I acquired this vehicle, had it brought to my home on a roll back, started it, and it smoked and the brakes were in need of repair 3 1/2 years ago. this is the last time it was started, after I pulled it into my garage.

The paint and body work currently on it, is not the best, in my opinion. you take a look at the pictures and judge for yourself. driver side, last image, is the worst. Regardless, IT IS A BEAUTY!

This is a great project vehicle due to the original parts and hell, after all, it is a 1970 FJ 40.

I am not in the business of buying and selling cars, This is my personal car with a title issue date of 5.13.2015 (took a few months before I retitled it in my name). I am attempting to tell you everything I can about vehicles and post honest pics, not manipulated. We are downsizing and moving to a smaller place.

SOLD AS IS, WHERE IS, FINAL SALE.

if you want additional pics (could only post 24), face time, or videos or have questions, just let me know.

Deposit is non-refundable

ERROR IN LISTING

The transmission is manual, not automatic. my apologies! I do not know if it is 3 or 4 speed.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

I do not know if the 4 wheel drive works or not because I have never driven it.

Someone asked the condition of the"tub body supports". I cant add anymore pics to the listing but can send some to you if you want to see condition. There is some surface rust in some areas, but they are not rusted out. They are in pretty good shape.

Answer to a buyer's question;

Hi,
We got it brought to us on a roll back, we started it and it smoked. We never drove it. We figured it would need mechanical work and the intention was to dig into it and restore it. Back glasses are not installed, but we have them all. It has just sit in our garage every since. We thought about selling it several times and just never got around to it. Now we need to clear the garage.

This is a project vehicle, not being driven, it has just been sitting. I can't testify to condition of any of the mechanics of it.
I wish I could tell you more but really that is all I know to be accurate.

NOTICE;

THIS IS GOING TO HIT RESERVE PRICE VERY SOON.

ANOTHER QUESTION CAME IN ABOUT MOTOR, TRANSMISSION, MECHANICS ETC. I DO NOT KNOW THE CONDITION OF ITS CURRENT STATE. THAT IS WHY I AM SELLING IT AS IS. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE ASSUMPTIONS ABOUT CONDITION OF MECHANICS. PURCHASE WITH THE INTENT OF RESTORING.

There is some rust and repair marks on driver's door. Please zoom in on picture. As stated, the FJ40 is just like it was when I got it. I have made no repairs to the mechanics or body so I cannot testify to what someone else has done to it.
