Description of 1990 Toyota Land Cruiser LX |
This is a 1990 Land Cruiser II, LJ-79. It is NOT the commonly seen LJ-78 with the problematic 2LT engine which is prone to overheating and cracked heads. It has the 3L engine with no turbo., known for it's longevity and reliability. No electronics BS on this Cruiser: manual shift transfer-case, manual windows and seats, manual lock-out hubs. Same wheel-base as the 80 series but more usable room inside. Same basic suspension as the 80 series: coils all around. The ultimate hunting, fishing, camping rig with lots of room when 3rd row seats are removed. Shiny stuff on undercarriage is Fluid-Film which I treat all my vehicles with yearly. Never driven on a salty road. When the salt trucks roll out, it goes in the garage. NO RUST...Under the hood AC components have been removed (no need for AC where we live) but it's all here and goes with the truck. Front seats were worn se were replaced with brand new seats from a Toyota Land Cruiser pickup. All seats go with truck. fuel filler door removed, but goes with the truck. Also have a Toyota snorkel which goes with the truck. No heater. $800 - $1000 in parts to install heat. Temp control cable, heater core, water valve and hoses. Also already have a back-seat heater which goes with truck. Heat was unimportant to me since it wasn't driven in winter. Items replaced in last 2 years: all Toyota parts. 1. Timing belt. 2. Brake pads and shoes. 3. Starter. 4. Four Dobinson shocks. 5. Starter relay. 6. Battery and cables. 7. Belts/hoses The bad: 1. Scratch down right rear quarter panel; thru paint but not thru primer. 2. AC needs to be re-installed … if important to new owner 3. Heater needs to be installed if needed. 4. Suspension bushings are worn and need replaced. Have complete set of new Dobinson suspension bushing which go with truck. 5. Transfer case needs new seals on front and rear output shafts: Parts less than $100. Have all proper import documents and clear Michigan title in my name. Good solid cruiser with no rattles, vibrations or other weird quirks. Everything works as it should. I just have too many Land Cruisers so this one has to go. Will assist with shipping, but buyer pays all shipping costs. More photos available on request. |
