Description of 1983 Toyota Pickup SR5 |
Up for sale a 1983 Toyota SR5 4x4 Short bed w/factory A/C and factory moon roof. This is my personal Yota and I’m sick about selling it but it is what it is...life’s a bitch! This truck is in very good shape and only needs a few minor things to be perfect but this is how I bought it. I have not been able to find the time needed to finish it up but my loss is your gain. Ok where to start,...The goods: It is rust free, it runs well, has a strong rebuilt 22R motor, 155,355 miles (mileage don’t reflect on new motor), a strong 4wheel drive, good brakes, brand new Red Top Optima battery, Weber carb, and a new custom pain job. 3” lift with 33.12.5 Goodyear Wranglers on 10.5 Mickey Thompson’s with bead locks. It has the SR5 upgrade package with the wood grain trim, moon roof, factory A/C etc. It comes with a matching Mikey Thompson wheel but it needs a spare tire. I also have a brand new Fuel cell with extra capacity that I will sell separately if interested. The needs: The marker lights need to be replaced because the painter got chemicals on them. The A/C needs to be reinstalled with a new compressor and serviced. I have the old compressor and parts that came off the truck in a box which was the way I received them I just never had the chance to put it back on. The muffler tail pipe is loose underneath from the muffler but a quick tack weld will fix that. It needs a black bumper end cap on the front drivers side bumper. There is no rear bumper but you can install one if you wish. There are a couple of cracks in the dash but I have a connection to an original new black one I think can get for it at an extra charge or you can cover it with a skin but I think original is always better. The stereo that was put in sounds good but the installation was a hack job that buggered up the dash but that’s an easy fix and that’s how I bought it. The third brake light on the camper shell has never been hooked up but it could be easily and would be that little extra touch of cool. The front bumper looks a little bent and the chrome grill and headlight bezels aren’t without some nicks but all of theses are an easy fix but they really don’t look bad their just not perfect. The parts needed are still readily available for these trucks. The gas gage seems to be stuck but it used to always work...another easy fix. All the other gages and lights work. I think it just needs to be used more than anything. The plastic dome light lense cover is dry rotted but a new one can be purchased for cheap. Over all there is not much other than mostly cosmetic things and the muffler and A/C that needs attention. I purchased this truck from a guy in El Paso, TX in 2008 and drove it all the way back to Louisiana and it drove great at 75-80 mph the entire way. I have enjoyed driving it around my little town but haven’t used it the way I would like to because it’s hard for me as I have a disability and clutching it is now more difficult for me than it used to be. Over all this is just a bad ass little Toyota that turns heads and stops traffic everywhere it goes. It was the top of the line for the day. I have been offered a clean Chevy Silverado with a book value of over 18k for it a straight across trade but I still couldn’t trade my Yota for it. Silverado’s are a dime a dozen and you won’t find a Toyota like this one on every corner! I hope you can see my honesty and give me an honest bid. I am starting this auction low with no reserve and I hope it goes all the way to the top. It deserves it. Please view all pictures closely and ask any questions before bidding. Shipping is the responsibility of the winning bidder. $500 is due immediately after the end of the auction in my PayPal account and the rest is due within three days from the end of auction. I will also except cash or a certified cashiers check. The truck is “sold as is where is” ... if you would like to come and look at it in person and test drive it or send a third-party to verify it’s mechanical condition please do that. Good luck and happy bidding! ???? |
