Description of 1989 Toyota Other Base |
I bought this truck in 1993 with about 59,000 miles on it, and for the last 25 years, it has been a great vehicle. I've changed the oil *every* 3000 miles since I've owned it. Coolant also gets changed every other oil change, and I also cycle the brake fluid in the reservoir. All original documentation is included (see photo) The good:
The bad: Odometer and speedometer are broken. Odometer says 175,000 miles. I have the smog certs that show it stopped working 6 years ago and I average 2300 miles per year, so it's pretty accurate to say it has about 189k miles now. The left front body panel is wrinkled. The driver-side original seat is torn. I've had a seat cover on it for the last 10 years. Paint is faded all around Minor rust spots need some touch-up The driver's side window knob comes off when you try to roll the driver's side window down. The handle still works fine so you either have to fix the knob so it doesn't come off or get used to using the handle without the knob (that's what I've done) Windshield washer doesn't work. The awesome: This is hands down an amazing truck. Now that my business is no longer building houses and I spend my time carting kids around in my Nissan Leaf, it's time to sell. I'd love to keep it, but I can't justify $500 per year in registration and insurance to have an amazing truck sit in my driveway. |
