2ND GENERATION (1984-1988) 4x4 HILUX PICKUP:This is one of the nicest 2nd generation factory straight axle 4x4 pickups for sale anywhere. It's a 3 owner immaculate rust free classic survivor that runs & drives great.HISTORY:This amazing truck was born September of 1984 in a factory in Hamura, Japan. It was shipped to Long Beach, CA and then to the Desert Toyota dealership in Tucson, AZ where it's lived ever since. It's 100% rust free in a climate so dry metal virtually cannot corrode which is why the Pentagon mothballs most of their aircraft in the "Tucson Boneyard".
REBUILT 22R:Legendarily reliable 22R (2.4L) 4 cylinder engine professionally rebuilt 8k miles ago comes with receipts. Runs like an industrial sewing machine. Starts every time with a turn of the key. No smoke, no knocks, and absolutely no leaks. Runs quiet and cool. All the fluids are fresh. New fuel pump & clear filter. New air & oil filter. New starter and alternator. New battery. New power steering pump. New brake and clutch master cylinder. New fan clutch plus new belts. The exhaust with catalytic converter is stock. The new authentic Weber carb features a billet adapter that allows the factory air filter setup to remain so it's all emissionscompliant. Ask any pro engine builder and they'll confirm the 22R block was hardened with more nickle content than most 60's era muscle cars. Here's a link to a video of a cold start on 11/11/19:https://youtu.be/saSkDFwqmNs
REBUILT 5SPEED MANUAL TRANSMISSION:5 Speed manual transmission was gone through with new synchros and bearings replaced where needed. A new heavy duty clutch disc, pressure plate, throwout & pilot bearing, plus a new flywheel and new hydraulics from Merle's Auto Parts were installed same time as engine rebuild as shown on receipt. Shifts smooth and concise as designed. No leaks.
2 SPEED TRANSFER CASE:The factory 2 speed gear driven transfer case (pound for pound arguably the strongest humans have ever built) also shifts and engages 4x4 smooth as designed with no leaks. The Aisin manual lockout hubs are stronger than anything Americans have ever engineered.Toyota 4x4 reliability is legend.
SUSPENSION, WHEELS & TIRES:Power steering was upgraded not only with a new pump and hoses but also to new All Pro Offroad high steer arms and crossover with a rebuilt IFS gear box. New front springs and shackles are 5 inch Trail Gear. New Bilstein 5100 front long travel shocks are mounted to new Trail Gear shock hoops. Rear springs professionally converted to new long travel 63 inch Chevy with new Ballistic Fab shackles for not only the smoothest posssible ride but maximum articulation all while providing 4 inches of natural lift with no blocks. New SkyJacker long travel shocks have been relocated to the side to side 79-83 pickup style for better articulation. Rear axle has been gusseted not only for strength but future 4 link upgrades. Both axles utilize the heavy duty Trail Gear U-Bolt flip kits. Newer33x12.5x15 Mud Terrain radial tires with lots of tread are mounted on light weight 15x10 American Racing aluminum rims.
BRAKES:New ceramic disc brake pads installed on the front. New rear brake shoes, wheel cylinders and hardware installed on the back.
DIFFERENTIALS:Both factory differentials are stock 4.10 gear ratio with no leaks. The rear differential has a new full carrier Detroit locker installed. All the gear oil is fresh.
DRIVE SHAFTS:Both drive shafts have just been rebuilt. The rear has new greasable Neapco U-joints and a new Dorman center support bearing. The front shaft is a custom long travel heavy duty unit made from receiver hitch square tube with new greasable Neapco U-joints.
INTERIOR:The interior is exceptional for its age. Super clean with no rips or tears or stains on the fabric or carpet. The lights, signals and gauges work as designed, with the SR5 interior package featuring not only tilt wheel & tachometer but also oil pressure, temperature and voltage. The AC blows ice cold (39 degrees!) and has been converted to modern 134A freon. The heat blows hot. The gray vinyl dash under the carpet is in great shape for an Arizona truck. The driver's side is always pristine because they're hard plastic. The passenger side which is soft vinyl has 2 verticle heat cracks which is better than most here. The factory jack is still stowed behind the passenger seat but there is no spare nor jack tools. Installing a sound system will be up to the new owner as there's no radio in the dash except an old CB unit that hasn't been tested.
FRAME & BODY:
This truck has absolutely no rust except maybe for some typical surface rust on the exhaust components. It's never been wrecked. It's been repainted once recently to the metallic green paint code from a 96 Tacoma. The paint looks great but if you get a foot away and really scrutinize it you can see some very tiny fish eyes on the hood and a few places on the passenger side. The original paint was an ugly brown so compared to that this unit turns lots of heads rolling down the road or even filling up at a gas station. The short bed 6ft. box has been bedlined and still has some small drill holes from where a previous owner had installed a roll bar.
PAPERWORK:
Clean and clear "A" box original miles Arizona title is notarized & ready to go. A packet with the title along with a copy of the Experian Auto Check report with the exceptional above average score of 58 will be included along with receipt for engine, trans and clutch. Upon final payment I can Priority Mail these papers to you or secure them with the shipper you choose.
INSURANCE:In a few months this truck will be 35 years old. It's been eligible for historic plates in most states for going on 10 years now. That means it's eligible for Collector Car insurance from outfits like Grundy Worldwide or Haggerty which costs only $18 per month for a $15,000 full coverage policy. That's right, a stated $15k full coverage insurance policy is only about $18 per month and, get this, emissions are forever waived. I repeat. Collector Car Insurance means no more emissions and a cheap monthly nut on Full Coverage insurance.
OH WHAT A FEELING:
There's many reasons Toyota trucks are so legendary worldwide. It's no accident that no matter what part of the world whenever you see news footage of guerrilla fighter soldiers with AK47s in the back of a pickup it's always a Toyota. There's no exceptions.

JUSTSO YOU KNOW:When you tender an OFFER on eBay it's just like a bid, actually it's equivalent to a BUY NOW simply because if that OFFER is accepted, you've suddenly "entered into a legally binding contract for sale". That's per the TOS (Terms of Service) agreement you accepted when becoming an eBay member. The point is when you tender an OFFER you need not only be truly committed but also have the funds in place and your wife's permission because, for example, at auction's like Barrett-Jackson if you raise a paddle then renig on a bid they ruin your credit score the same as a loan default. This is not a video game. It takes months of preparation to present a vehicle like this for public auction so please act responsibly.
CONTACT:Email through eBay or Call52O-Nine 77-O112for any questions prior to clicking anything. The call before clicking is REQUIRED.
IMPORTANT AUCTION TERMS SO PLEASE READ CAREFULLY.As noted above, per the eBay "Terms of Service" (TOS) that you agreed to when registering your OFFER, should it be accepted, "constitutes a legally binding contract for sale" so please don't start clicking if you're not committed to buy with funds in place and wife's permission. Please also make sure the phone number and address you have registered with eBay is current and if you're planning to use PayPal for the deposit that you have liquid funds ready to go that are not in the form of an E-Check which takes 5 or more days to clear, in other words, please be a responsible bidder whose got their act together and doesn't have a bunch of excuses. If your PayPal is not liquid that's OK because I can email you a SQUARE.COM invoice which I prefer for the deposit.
PAYMENT TERMS:A non-refundable deposit of $1000 is payable either through a Square.com invoice (my preference) which will be emailed orPayPal payment within 24 hours of auction close.
Full balance of Payment is due within 72 hours of auction close by either direct bank to bank wire transfer, or you can overnight envelope a Cashiers Check, or pay cash in person, assuming you can get here that fast. PayPal for the full balance is NOT an option although I may consider a SQUARE.COM card payment for entire transaction if you consult me.
SHIPPING:All shipping arrangements and costs are the responsibility of the buyer however we will gladly help your shipper coordinate the loading to the best of our ability. It all begins by calling the number above. Figure shipping any vehicle East of the Mississippi is about a grand. West is less. We will store the vehicle free for 21 days after sale. There is a $15 per day storage fee thereafter unless other arrangements are pre-dickered. I'm a reasonable man but I'm not in the truck storage business. Shopping around for the best shipping rate is a breeze with a simple Google search.
Note that many buyers imagine they'll jump on a plane to Tucson, pay in cash in person, and drive the truck home, saving on shipping. In most cases they're wrong. Not because the truck will have issues but rather because you won't get cheap airfare to Tucson, you won't have legal plates to drive home with, you'll need to buy insurance, you won't have a spare tire, and the overall trip costs plus gas is way more than you think, especially with a lifted truck on 33 inch tires. Moreover, no radio and the monotonous droning of mud tires on the highway will quickly induce spun bearing madness into any driver's skull in a matter of hours. So my advice is to let the pros ship it. They transport vehicles for a living, they're all insured, and they know what they're doing.
