1976 Toyota Land Cruiser with original 2F engine. Has new Weber 38mm carburetor with electric automatic choke. Starts easily, runs extremely strong, idles well, though a bit rich - haven't adjusted the carb at all. Has Man-A-Fre six-into-one headers and de-smogged 1974 intake manifold. Front disc / rear drum brakes that work perfectly. New clutch master and slave and new hydraulic lines top to bottom. Clutch engages high, but very solid, with no slip whatsoever. Again, no adjustments have been made after new hydraulics were installed. This is NOT a daily runner - yet. It is a very solid mechanical platform that could be a daily runner with some attention to electrics (lights, wipers, horn, etc., don't work), suspension (needs new shocks), and interior. It is also an OUTSTANDING restoration candidate, something that is becoming very difficult to find. It needs some rust restoration, yes. It needs re-cushioned and re-covered seats, and a new interior - headliner and door panels. Much of the floor is solid, some isn't. For instance, there's a three inch hole on the drivers side floor, while the passenger floor is virtually perfect. The rear floor is good, with some light surface rust only. The critical thing is the frame, which again has light surface rust in places, but is without rot. While the frame itself is solid, some of the attachment brackets and at least one of the cross-members will need replacing for a restoration. It needs seals, rubber and belts throughout - all the sorts of things a truck like this needs after sitting for years (inside). But it is VERY restorable. Again, not easy to find an unmolested engine/body these days. And this FJ40 you can climb in, turn the key, and drive - test the drivetrain. For these trucks, that's a great start. Please note - if you bid and win, you're responsible for an immediate $500 deposit via PayPal.
