Description of 1967 Toyota FJ Cruiser Land Cruiser |
This 1977 Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser is the perfect mix of vintage and new. After all, this classic 4x4 has the look we all love, and it can surpass its go-anywhere reputation today thanks to a detailed restoration that included an upgrade to small block V8 power. The first impression on this Land Cruiser is a bit deceiving, because it's more about classic than upgraded. The light blue paint has the look of a well-traveled friend. Plus, the white paint the grille, wheels, side steps, and roof give this a two-tone style look. So this one has a ton of vintage charm. It means people have to look a little harder to see the all the upgrades that makes this an extra capable machine. For example, the roof rack is not only a safari-ready piece, but also it has a bright set of LED flood lights on them to turn night into day. And while those custom tubular bumpers have a nice vintage look, there's serious ability in there, too. The rear one has a trailer hitch, and the front one had a new 8,000-lb Warn winch right behind it. And the more that you look at this Land Cruiser, the more you see the quality that comes from a multi-year restoration that was completed less than 3k miles ago. More of this well-done style continues inside. The exterior blue returns, and the whole interior has a fresh feeling. In fact, it looks so good, that you'll happily take off the top and open this FJ40 up to the world. And this one was built to be out in nature with nice features like the rugged rubber flooring, a mounted fire extinguisher, and a proper roll bar. The upholstery feels fresh and is made of a durable vinyl. While this can sit three-across, Toyota made sure the driver always has an individual bucket. You get nice stock features like the thin/grippy steering wheel and factory speedo. But in an upgraded machine like this, you'll also appreciate the addition of the auxiliary gauge trio and the large Sunpro tach. Under the hood is a terrific upgrade to a 350 cubic-inch V8. We love these Toyotas for their near indestructible reputation, and the Chevy small block unit shares that kind of status. Plus, performance upgrades like the Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor and Edelbrock intake offer a huge added helping of extra power and torque. Plus, it really is made for dependability with nice features like an Optima red top battery and an aluminum radiator w/electric fans. It's a great-running package that you take full control over thanks to the three-speed manual transmission. And the vacuum activated 4x4 transfer case means the fun doesn't end when the roads do. The sale comes complete with build receipts, restoration photos, the owner's manual, and valuable extra components. This is an international symbol for toughness that has been upgraded to go beyond its unbreakable reputation. It's everything you love about a Land Cruiser with plenty of extra power, too.
