Vehicle Details 1977 North American Toyota FJ40 with a Merc Diesel swap. Driven almost every weekday. I commute in from an hour away and then take the FJ out to lunch, events and to meet clients etc. Occasionally she goes on a camping or day trip. Driven off-road but never beat up for the hell of it. Swap was done about ten years ago by a good friend of my who daily drove it until selling it to me. Spent it’s whole life in the South. Minimal body rot in the usual spots. Not a show car but draws a crowd. Currently the doors are off and the hardtop is on. My personal year round favorite. Doors (ambulance on the rear) are in decent shape and the heater works for the winter if you need it. I live in TN so this is now basically my 365 setup. 2 inch lift on 34’s. The black ProComp steels are the wheels that come with it. Original hub locks still work. Top speed is probably 55. Newer aluminum radiator. She’ll stay cool for as far as you want to go. Great for putting around town or back roads. Really fun in the woods. Front seats need to be recovered. I just keep cheap seat covers on them. The rig is rowdy. The body rattles like hell and turbo noise is gnarly. My wife’s favorite date night car. It comes with the original seat belts but I’ve just got airline style lap belts on it right now. Also comes two soft tops and the channel. I have some other odds and ends. Also, obviously included is the aftermarket fiberglass “tail gate”. There’s a boost gauge inside the dash. I don’t really want to sell it, but third kid is on the way and the farm house currently needs a new AC unit… so here we are. She needs nothing but occasionally a top off on the oil. Probably the best car I’ve ever owned. Valets in town all love it. My customers love ripping around town raising hell it. Hope it goes to a good home.
