Description of 1984 Toyota Pickup SR5

*See new notes below. Oh what a feeling was the catch phrase, this one definitely gives off that vibe. Selling my well preserved 1984 Toyota 4wd extra cab pickup. Ones like this rarely come along, and sell easily and fast to the discerning buyer. It’s more or less an unmolested original with only some paint corrections and new decals. This is an unrestored survivor. It’s had two long term owners in its life in Arizona, and New Mexico. It was plated in Colorado for a very short period of time (months), and then I brought it to California almost a year ago. It has less than 67k original on the clock and it really shows. It’s been very well cared for, garaged, pampered, and records always well kept since new. The kind of documentation you rarely find with vehicles their entire life. From window sticker through oil changes and in between, all with it. There’s even a Polaroid from when it was new. This truck is a well optioned SR5 with dealer added a/c (dealer warranty card for air with docs), sunroof, all weather guard package, sliding back glass, and full chrome package. The original chrome SR5 wheels are still very bright and shiny along with the chrome up front. None of the bright work has needed refurbishing or replacement. With extensive inspection it appears bumper, grill, corner lights, and trim up front have never been off the truck. It’s truly unmolested and very well preserved over all. Mechanically the truck is in great condition and can be driven anywhere. Original Aisin carb works well. It chokes up, and cold starts as it was designed. The truck is turn key. All terrain tires are in good condition with 90% tread and 2021 date codes. So, no old tires to worry about. A/C blows cold. Recently it received new o-rings and servicing. The heat, a/c, and controls for climate all work very well. Inside the truck is in phenomenal original condition. Carpet, door panels, seats, headliner, back tray and all other interior panels are original. Dash was capped with a coverlay, assuming the pad under it was cracked. That was installed prior to my stewardship. Sunroof cover is in place and looks as though it’s had very minimal handling, it’s in excellent condition still. Plastics are dry and cracked both sides below rear quarter windows only in extra cab area. Balance of interior is amazing. Original radio is intact, and in place. Although it does not currently make sound. ****Radio problem has been rectified, see notes below. I personally upgraded the center console from the standard center console to the double stack console. That is a factory option that it could have came with. That second tier is a big upgrade because the center console actually reaches your elbow with it. Where the single stack console sits too low to rest your arm on.That is an oem original piece for 1984, I also had the armrest pad resewn OEM style with new material and padding for extra comfort, durability, and to freshen up the armrest pad. Body wise, the truck is an excellent rust free example. Typically rust starts towards the rear of the truck on these and works its way forward on the frame and body. As you can see on the frame pics and under bed pics this truck has been in desert and high desert conditions for nearly its entire life and that shows on the chassis. The truck has minor dings and scratches only, over all it’s still extremely presentable. It has no fade on the top of cab or hood though which is what always goes first on these. Being garaged its entire life really shows on this one. I’m easy to deal with, you be as well please. Closet airports if you’d like to fly in are San Jose and Monterey. I’m happy to pick you up at either of those if need be. Please do not just hit the buy it now button. Call me old fashioned, but I’d like to know who I’m dealing with if I’m selling you my truck. Please message me through eBay WITH you name AND phone number so I can give you a call if you’re seriously interested and/or have other questions about the truck and to work out details if you’re purchasing. Yes, eBay will let you send a phone number on car/truck listings. eBay has no skin in the game beyond the listing. If buying in person, I prefer greenbacks, if you’re out of state and shipping I’ll accept a cashiers check or wire transfer. Truck and title are okay to leave after that payment has cleared. Clean clear title is in hand. After consummating a deal I’ll ask that you pay within three days. Thanks for reading through. I’ll update the listing as needed on anything that will require that. Will not look at offers sub 30k. If you are not at or near my asking I’d greatly appreciate we respect each others time. Thanks much!****Note 1 in the last picture the radio is now different. Original radio would not play. I have another 1984 Toyota pickup that’s tucked back into the corner of my barn that had a Toyota parts department radio that was put in it when it was sold new. I took that radio out of that truck and installed it into this truck so it would have a working radio. Tuner glides nicely, and it plays well on all stations. The tuner is strong and pulls in stations I don’t normally get in my area surprisingly. It mounts exactly like the original radio on the 4 tabs on the sides. It of course is also direct plug with no wiring changes or adapters needed. I don’t have a cassette to try in it. So, no way to confirm tape deck function. I’m a big fan of cigarette lighter Bluetooth modulators that work through the FM radio frequencies btw. Highly recommend using one so you can play your tunes from your phone through the trucks speakers and radio.*****Note 2 previously I had mentioned that the air conditioning was not operational. That’s now been repaired, heat and a/c both work well now. There were leaks in the system that were repaired and it was recharged.
