Description of 1966 Triumph Spitfire MK2

1966 Triumph Spitfire MK2. This Spitfire has a 1.5 L 4cyl (engine vin code FM19096UE) 4 spd manual transmission with newer clutch. This car runs great and drives great. The Triumph has a new 2 barrel Weber carburetor and intake, exhaust header, ew 2 core aluminum radiator with cap, ew Pertronix distriubuter with electronic ignition (no more points in distributor), ew Lucas 12 volt coil. New fuel sending unit for fuel tank. New Mini-Light 13in wheels and Toyo 205/60 R13 Proxes tires. New carpet kit and plastic polly transmission cover. Seats are aftermarket with aluminum sides. Comes with spare tire and cover. The top frame work is there (not bolted in car), here is no material for the top just the frame. New rubber front brake lines. Starter was just replaced with a new Bosh starter before this auction. Comes with new spare parts that include new rear brake shoes, ew rear brake cylinders, ew clutch master cylinder, ew True Spark distributor (no points, lectronic ignition) with Lucas coil in box. 4 spare chrome moldings for the top of the fenders and quarter panels. Two 4 point seat harnesses, lack in color. We were told floor pans were replaced by the previous owner. Frame is in great shape from what we can see. The only rust spot seen is inside the trunk on floor, n the left side and its about the size of a quarter. Fuel gauge works, emperature gauge works. The Speedometer worked on test drive but the cable was making noise and it was unplugged for that reason. The tachometer has the cable unplugged as well. It appears that both cables need to be replaced for those to work. The paint appears to original but cannot confirm that. It has scratches and a few small dents. The paint appears it would really clean up with a good buffing. This car was part of an estate sale so we do not know a whole lot about the history of the car but feel free to ask any questions. If you need better pictures of any areas not shown please ask and we will try to get them messaged to you as soon as possible.
